But if any other curch or organizaition DOES want ot marry them then i think THAT IS THEIR RIGHT. I think it's none of governments business.
Even if your against gay marriage, why do you think you have the right to try to stop it? My motto is live and let live. Are these people coming into your home and giving your children lectures on the benefits of gay marraige when your not home?
Bottom line, even for the religious right, gay marriage is GOOD for our nation. It promotes stability and the reduction of aids and an increase in mutual committments between adults (gay pple please add here I fully admit I am fairly niave when it comes to this stuff).
If you want to be against gay marriage i fully support that. What I say is join an orgainization/church that doesnt' allow it and then don't hold any gay marriage seriomonies.
But what makes you think you have the right to interfere withe the private actions of individuals in a supposedly free nation? If their church or public organizaiton wants to marry them I support your right to disapprove if you choose. But I completely oppose your attempts to intefere with the process just like i oppose with full force any efforts anyone makes to tryt ot forcibly interfere with MY marriage or MY family.
People need to mind their own business. Government is not (IMO) established to interfere in the private dealings of peoples lives. If these people run wild on society and start robbing or raping people, fine, call in the gov't police. But that's no differen than any hetero married person or non married person.
