Hey guys,
Just wanted to talk about a few things and ask a few questions. To begin with, I've read all of the information in the above threads - some at least twice or three times - and I would appreciate some clarification if that would be okay.
I'm 5'10 and weigh around 140 pounds. I power lifted fairly heavily in high school (8 years ago) and peaked out at around 135 pounds with a 200 BP. I was top in my bracket - but after high school ended up falling out of working out (was doing hard weights twice per day every two days). I was never coached or talked to about maintaining a diet or what to eat. When I graduated college, I decided that I'd again have the time to invest in working out. Now, from a beginner's perspective - my immediate idea was to do a cycle of test e (have had friends that have been on juice for some time now) - and both them and this site suggested it.
However, after reading through some responses to my welcome message and doing some additional research - I've come to realize that I'm very, very, far away from having the base and the diet to do a cycle. If I were going to - I would want to gain maximum amount of size and mass for what I was stacking. At my current body weight and diet I'm unable too.
Now, to begin with about my diet - I have a friend who bodybuilds and he suggested the usual for maximizing protein and calorie intake. Basically, lots of tuna, nuts, peanut butter, chicken. I've read in several places that someone with my body type and metabolism should be on the "see-food" diet. (I see food, I eat it!).
Does this work or should I be very cautious about what I eat?
My ideal goal is to gain about 30-40 pounds before going on my first cycle. I love to workout and would do it everyday if I could - but I recognize that muscles build when they rest, and less is most certainly more - so I typically work out about 3 times a week (arms/chest - legs/back - cardio).
Are there any specifics of the general workout regime I just gave that I should change? I've been told that bulking up means I shouldn't be doing cardio but once every few weeks. If that's the case - I'd like to spend the rest of that time working out my upper and lower back and just spending one full day on my legs.
Mostly - I was pleasantly surprised that the veteran members here seem very wary to give people the go ahead on using AS unless their bodies are prepared. If I'm going to do this, it's my body, and I want it to be done 100% correct. Any feedback and answers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
