What Are Some of The MOST Effective workouts for your Abs

I'm trying to find out what the best ab workouts are. I'm trying to slim down, and knowing this would help out a lot. Btw, what type of diet should I be on if I wanted to maximize my results.

Hanging leg raises and leg lifts with a stability ball between your feet.

To start with abb work will do nothing for u 'slimming down'

If u want ur abs out it is going to be down to cardio and diet

    Best ab exercises to develop abs IMO are;

    Hanging leg raises
    Crunches
    Lying leg raises

Remember to lift ur hips in the raising movements, that is key!

I agree with baseline. Diet, diet, diet.

If youre looking for an ab workout try downloading ab ripper x by p90x. Ive been using it for 5 weeks and its a s.o.b!

Just a standard crunch laying on the floor.

Your stomach will be burning up in no time.

    rope crunches,
high to low cable chops for obliques,
    Planks,

Thats pretty much all i do for abs at the moment, although getting extremley drunk and vommiting followed by 30 minutes of dry heaving left my abs destroyed the day after my birthday

Like the other guys said. Hanging leg raises are the number one ab builder. Weighted hanging leg raises if you're advanced. No other exercise in my opinion builds the abs as much. And we're talking about more or less straight legged here with a slight bend. No knee ups, waste of time. Crunches? nope. Weighted crunches? yeah ok but with a 20kg plate at your head. Otherwise forget it. And there's no point going for a huge amount of reps either. If you are doing over 12 then add weight to your feet.

decline bench medicine ball crunches, better if you have a buddy to catch to the ball and throw it back to you on the way down....and planks, old fashioned yet effective.

    Squat, Deadlift, Lunge, And run....

If you are going to do leg lifts lift hips(like base said), and bring shoulders forward.

Squats!!! although, it won't slim you, Crunch's build muscle, you can't spot lose fat. It will make your mid section bigger. Diet and cardio will bring your abs out, when you lower your bf%. The bad part is on men it's usually the last place you lose fat from.
