    Elevating HR for cardio

    Whatsup every1?????????

Listen, when I do some weights b/f cardio, my cardio heart rate is elevated already and I can achieve a substantially higher heart rate than if I had not done weights. Usually about 10beat difference (eg. 137 vs 150)

I know I can workout everyday and then do cardio.
But I have cardio only days.

What should I do about that

Are there tricks to elevating it and keeping them elevated, that are stimulant free and no clen plz. (the latter helps trust me)

I could do abs first, as I do them every day.

Any tips or experiences plz share

what are you asking? regardless of what you do your target heart rate will be the fat burning zone regardless of whether it was raise previously or not

    That was not my question.
I want to raise it, and keep it raised, higher than normal with same exertion.

It is EASIER and FASTER to reach 140bpm (23yo = 197MHR) after weights or other exercise.
I want to reach a higher HR faster, and easier , and maintain it w/ other ways other than just weights, for my cardio only days.

For me it only takes about 3 min of cardio at a moderate pace to reach my fat burning zone (115-135 bpm) on cardio only days. Just start with a jog or ramp up the incline. A fast paced ab routine would be good to start with as well.

    Thanks, me too.
However, I want to push it PAST fat burning zone, which is a measly 65-70%.
I want it higher as that burns more calories and actually feels like Im working out rather than reading a magazine....youre not working out hard enough if you can have a chat or read IMO.

    Ne1 else have any tips?

I know some HIIT advocates think otherwise but cardio (especially for fat burning purposes) is not supposed to be hard. That 65-70% is perfect range for burning fat and keeping muscle. I can see where HIIT might work well for someone trying to get into the 10% range but I cant imagine trying it when I am on a precontest diet and already in single digit BF%.

    cardiodan,

I haven't seen you post in a while....

I do think you kind of know the answer.... It takes me a while to get my heart rate elevated on my cardio days where I don't lift weights prior also.

What I do is go really extreme for the first X amount of time and then I just slow down and my HR stays elevated and in the HR Zone for a longer period just like the days when I lifted. If I don't do that i waste too much precious time elevating it, when it could be in the zone for those 5-10 minutes.

that was nothing fancy and it was already stated in a few different ways with the other answers, but not sure there is any other way to do that. I think my technique to get elevated would be more of a HIT at the beginning then i just stay steady HR zone for the 45 minutes or so. good luck.
