    heavy squat 3 times a week?
    heavy squat and heavy deads on the same day is def. not a good idea

    Actually this program works great. Bill Starr is the one who developed this program. It's great for building lean muscle mass.

    It depends from goals. If you train for hypertrophy 5x5 isn't the best choice.
    If you wanna train for strength and a little for size doing this program may be helpful.
    However not in every training you'll use heavy weight and you won't lift till failure.

    He's not suppose to go super heavy all week. There should be a heavy / med / light day.

    Correct. There's so many variations on the weight, but the reps remain the same. I've been reading into these lately cause i'm going to try one of them starting in late Oct.
    I did a very similar workout for a while when i was younger but that's been many years ago. I do know i came back stronger than ever though.
    OP-Can you post up exact routine with the weight and weeks included?
    I'll go look and post the one i think he might be talking about. It's either in this forum or the powerlifting forum.

    i have just took the usual 5x5 program but added an exercise for biceps n triceps on monday n friday cause doesnt seem that my arms will grow from not doing direct work.im probably wrong like. i never done this routine anyway, today i av started madcow's version which most of u know. just gonnna follow exactly wat that says.heard its very good for putting on size.but soon find out in few weeks
