Well one thing is for sure, we can't see pain! If you need this pain medication to live a happy life then you will probably have to take more gear to get a response. Don't sweat it. As a trainer, I deal with a lot of chronic pain patients and I understand.

I would not worry about the incision if they can put in artificial disk but a multi-level fusion could turn out ugly unless you get it done right. Advil taken at night could help you take less narcotic pain meds. Sorry to hear you are hurting. If there is anything training wise I can help you with just ask.

Thanks bro I appreciate it! I try a lot of different methods so I do not have to take all my prescibed dosae everyday! Lidocaine patches, Heating pad, Icy Hot, Long sokes in the tub, Stretching etc. etc. As i said, if i am not doing much, i try and not take as much but basically, when I need it, I need it!

if the discs are not next to each other, they would not do a 10" incision, they would do separate incisions. I understand your apprehension, but I had back surgery several years ago thanks to one of my motorcycle accidents, and I made a full recovery. Before the surgery I had chronic pain, and if I moved wrong my legs would just give out and I would fall like a rag doll. I've busted myself up pretty well over the years, and have had multiple surgeries, and I'm good as (or better than) new. you really should consider letting them fix you, the pain is the symptom of the problem, it's always better to address the problem itself rather than addressing the symptom.

My Bad!!! 3 years hit the other button by mistake Sorry!! There is no getting Oxycontin free where I live! No Suboxone Does not work at all for pain and it is 3-5X more expensive than any opiate! All Suboxone does is take away the withdrawal symptoms and a very few doctors even prescribe it! A friend of mine takes suboxone and I have actually tried it and makes me feel fine, but the pain without the meds is almost unbearable! It took him alnmost 3 months to et prescribed the medicine! Small towns are hard to get good healthcare!

When you get shot, you're too shocked to feel pain. When you're on morphine, you're too high to feel pain.(till you grow a tolerance) But biologically speaking, suboxone does a much better job blocking nerve messages up the spine.

If you didn't respond to it, thats because all opiates are underprescribed (dosage wise). But if you take 400mg of morphine, youd prob live. If you took that much of subox your heart would stop.

If you're getting tired of pain look into some ethnobotanicals like Kratom. Keep it by your side it will become a good friend and it works just as good as most opiates if not better.

I just hate how bup gets such a bad wrap. If anyone knows anything about bup and sees you with a bottle first thing they'll prob think is you're a drug addict.
And then you have masses of people who don't like it cause its not a "happy pill" & won't give you any sort of euphoria. But when you look at the momentum of pharmaceutical technology, creating drugs that are stronger at relieving pain, and weaker at creating addiction, is something I consider a VERY positive change.
So it just irritates me a bit when people overlook that fact.

The Lumbar region of the spine is the weight bearing area, especially L3-5. Thats why your in so much pain.

There is no way they would make a "10 inch" cut, to operate on both the lumbar and sacral regions. Not a chance my friend.

BTW, traditional lumbar is generally the only form of fusion surgery that would require an 8- to 10-inch incision. Nowadays, doctors are leaning towards endoscopic surgery (requiring a 2 - 3 inch incision).

You should really review your doctors advice with another medical professional. But, perhaps you're just self-diagnosing yourself, and spewing out a bunch of rubbish (which is really what it seems like to me.)

Keep in mind that methadone will take a way your overall feeling of well being. You do not get a buzz from methadone like some of the other narcotics. It causes depression and brain fog. Bad stuff IMO..

If they do surgery they will need to go ahead and remove the L-2
along with your L-3, L-4 and S-1. If they don't do it then odds are great you will need a second surgey later down the road to fix it.

In regards to having surgery the choice is yours. As BIG stated you could walk away virtually pain free but I have seen some get worse and have to take even more pain pills. They would have to do a multi-level fusion and if it were me I would go somewhere well known like the Texas Back Institute for something like this. Don't be afraid of all doctors because once your leg pain kicks in to the point you cannot sleep you will be ready to have surgery!

Wow .... I just read this thread... One of the first things that comes to mind is that you didn't post what your free test levels are?? unless I missed that post ( Free test is more important than total test levels, when it comes to putting on mass.. ).. so what is your free test levels ?

You stated that you took your blood work at wk five .. Keep in mind that the 5 wk mark is only a general guideline ( that alot of Dr follow ) .. It does not mean you have definitely reached peak blood plasma levels ... You where using Cyp which is a long ester and is why you hear some guys say that they dont see gains until like week five or 6 ( when using a longer chained ester..) .. Also why you see peeps advise doing at least 10 wks when using cyp or test E.. Many do 12 to 16 weeks .. Which makes me think your diet and training are more than likely to be the culprit..

You also never mentioned if this is your first cycle ?? If not .. Did you do a proper pct ?? If so.. Did you wait the proper amount of time to recover ( back to baseline) ?? If not and you cycled again you would already have suppressed HPTA and that could be part of the problem .. Lots of stuff going on here so its kinda hard to say..

You don't have an S-2 disc, or rather you have a vistigal, non functional disc that wouldn't be breaking down or going.

L-3-4 or L2-3 is less likely to be causing your pain depending on which you are talking about.

That just leaves L5-S1.

You should see a qualified surgeon and see what your options are.

I worked in Spine for 8 years. You should take the chance with the level of Narcs you are on.

Btw, you can't get paralized from an operation of the Lumbar spine. The Nerves have already exited for walking. The worst thing that can happen is something called foot drop wherre you can't control the up and down motion of your foot. So, they have to wear a brace for your foot and it's limiting but not as limiting as not walking.

You can get L5-S1 fused minimally invasively. They can go in through your belly and throw a graft up front. Then put screws in the back with guide wires and you'll just have a series of bullet holes in your back. It sounds invasive, but it's really not. It doesn't take much muscle trauma to get into your belly.
