The head gaskets did blow, they would fix them...but like many of toyota's recalls, it was a silent campaign. Meaning, they don't notify the customer, don't tell the public about the issue, and don't agree to guilt. If you go to the dealer with a problem, they will fix it...many people were out of pocket for the repair because of failure before the recall, or lack of knowledge of the recall (not everyone gets service from the dealer). I'm amazed you're impressed by them fixing a defective product...they only do it to avoid a class action lawsuit exposing, and making public knowledge that they make a shitty product.
