Sir, I don't know you and what chances you take with your life are yours and yours alone. I am a diabetic and so is my 7 year old son. We take insulin 4 times a day. We use Novalog and Lantis insulin. Humulin "R" is the same as the novalog insulin. Humulin "N" is the same as the lantis insulin we take. Humulin "R" starts working in 15min and peaks at 2-2.5 hours, remaining active for up to 6 hours. Humulin "N" is designed not to peak and is active in the body for up to 24 hours.
Insulin should never be injected in a muscle!
Please understand that a normal blood sugar is 80-150. If you take insulin when you are on the lower side of this scale you will with out a doubt go low. Guess how fast you can go from 80 to below 20? under 3 min! I know this because both my son and I have lived through this. Guess what happens when you are 50... You dream, you don't know your surrounding, you don't know who anybody is, You become catatonic. You compleatly loose the ability to understand anything. You won't even comprehend that you are low and need sugar. When you are below 30 you may pass out. When you are below 10 your brain and nervious system stops you are dead.
It only takes 3-5 min to die. Please if you are really going to do this make sure this is worth dying for. Please make sure you have Juice at all times in the home and everywhere you go. Invest in a glucose meter. Never ever go to bed right after or within 3 hours from your last injection. Always make sure you are on the high end of the scale 130-150 before you go to bed. It would be wise to also have a glucagon gun in the event you are found passed out. You will die in your sleep if your blood sugar falls to zero in the middle of the night.
Yes I am trying to scare the shit out of you. And yes this can happen and does happen very frequently.
Please reconsider.
