    Studies have shown that greater shoulder girdle stimulation results from leaning back slightly. For example if you are doing dumbbell presses, you can set the adjustable bench at one or two notches away from perpendicular to the floor. I also agree with slightly arching the back while keeping the shoulder blades pulled back and muscles tight.
