The Bad News, Much of this is due to you underestimating how much bodyfat you had to begin with. I think you were closer to 30% than 20% to begin with and probably low 20% now. When you start with a bodyfat % number in your head that is much lower than you truly are it really can be discouraging when you go to measure your results. If you are figuring yourself at 17% now it's going to really depressing if you drop another 10-12 lbs and wonder why you are not cut up with abs and great definition because theoretically you should be getting in the 12% range. Then you think, damn, I lost a lot of muscle. No, you just had more fat on your body than you thought you did. I see this happen quite a bit with guys who get ready for their first show and end up 30lbs lighter than they think they are going to.
I see this quite a bit in the picture thread, these guys post pics who are carrying some decent size but way overweight. So many people chime in with the "Dude, drop 15lbs and you will be a beast" and I think to myself, drop 15lbs and you are still going to be very chunky. I mean no disrespect Machine, I am telling you this more as a compliment to what you have accomplished. I think your perceived results are better and I dont think you lost nearly the muscle you think you did. You just thought you were leaner than you were when you started. It would be nice to see you drop to around 200-205 and see what you really have to work with.
