    Im currently on a beta blocker for high bp. Great drug, increase nitric oxide in the blood, whilst also dilating them.

    Lowers bp, and can relieve anxiety.

    Yeah I think its just fine. Many people take these for BP control without issues.

    I was taking bystolic, i forgot i stopped taking it, taking low dose of hydrochlorothizide (diuretic) for bp now.

    Pretty sure beta blockers don't do that...but PDE5 inhibitors do (Viagra, Cialis, etc)

    Third genration beta blockers do increase NO and result in vasodialation.
    Also there are a couple that are b and a1 antagonists - these do result in vaosdialation as well.

    Good stuff. I can see how B1 inhibition would relax blood vessels, since B1 receptors are responsible for vasoconstriction.
    Through what mechanism do they increase NO?

    2 fold IIRC -
    1-rise in calcium independant NO synthase
    2-NO liberation from endothelial cells as a result of stimulation of p2y purinoceptor
