Yeh and I think I heard you just came back from vacation so the freshness of being away from your family is prob stressful enough too. Although I doubt you wanna come off like you're bitching and complaining all the time so you prob keep a lot of that stuff to yourself. I just know even though you get use to being away from your them it never really becomes "easy" like people think. Theres always a certain degree of stress present just from being away from them all the time. And although the vacations rock the back to life part is never fun.

I will respectfully disagree on the 98% posting of women. Now, from a perception standpoint, it may be true that the women posts get 98% of the attention. And from your standpoint, it may be all one and the same.

I see what you're saying now but it also seems like you're telling another member how they should post, and what their daily posting regime should be just because its what benefits or satisfies you. Balance that is. A little time here a little time there, don't just play and bs all the time but spend some time learning and being serious in other forums. I have to say ideally that’s usually the best idea, but some peoples personalities are really so outside yourself you will find that what benefits you can sometimes be torture for them.

But I DO see loud and clear what you're saying. I just wish you said this a few months ago to DSM. I'm not trying to side with anyone here cause that alone will prob create resentments between people, but I like sholvas personality too much to ever criticize the guy. Maybe that’s where we differ. DSM on the other hand I find extremely arrogant and annoying. Hes always being a pest to newbies and gets off on it (correcting spelling whenever he can or answering them condescendingly in a manner totally nonrelated to the topic) so the second I saw him doing obviously I had to speak up. Sholva on the other hand you can reason with and talk things through, he has ears and uses them, so hopefully you 2 will work this out.

Now, I want to apologize to Shol'va for the hijack. for some strange reason, I seem to have the knack of inflaming some of the members here. My comment about giving it a rest was NOT meant as a slam against anyone's orientation.

I think if that’s true it would be more a good thing than a bad thing. You have a knack of inflaming people because you yourself are secure and don't take huge offense to things, so naturally you expect other people to be that way too… everything can be talked about maturely, no need for petty school yard fights, and that’s how you may expect other people to be too.. just that sometimes you find otherwise lol. And I assume you're being honest merely cause you don't have a history for attacking peoples orientation. The second something gets off track you diffuse things fast like you're doing now.

And for the record, my position is that gay IS normal. Why? About (what?) 10% of the population is gay or bi. AND it has ALWAYS been that way. So, in reality, although being gay is a minority of the population, it is a normal deviation from the majority orientation.

Where the bible thumpers get traction is with the idea that being gay is an evolutionary dead end. But they lack any scientific evidence demonstrating that being gay is DNA / Genitically determined in any way.

Yep and we even have evolutionary theories that can explain homosexuality as having a functional purpose in evolution. Like the idea that men are having sex with men as "practice" to get better with women. Even though that sounds like a dumb concept there is still a wealth of way better theories that can frame homosexuality as serving evolution vs inhibiting it. I just can't recall any others right now.

Sometimes people will take some of the things I say and then take it on an extreme tangent, perverting my original thought, and then it snowballs from there.

People have a very hard time seeing "dimension" in other people or "depth". Like if I insult a gay person today, to them I'm a gay hater for the rest of my life, there is no inbetween or gray area on the internet. If I make a joke or insult women, I become a misogynist for the rest of my life. Those extremist thinkers can never see the side of me that worships women and basically lives to please them. Once people fill in those gaps they tend to cement that shit shut and no other alternative explanations are welcome at that point. I guess its all part of ignorance and being human.

He and I talk from time to time, and I agree with you about him. He's a good kid, has a good heart, and I would have absolutely no issues buying the first round at a pub with him.

But you were right about the edgy thing being related to my illness/meds. I've also been cranky at work, and because of this, came off the asthma inhalers two days ago. They took me about as far as I think they can anyways, so now it's up to me to get over this thing. Now that I'm off, I feel better emotionally.

So next time I seem a bit off, just call me on it so I can deal with it. It hadn't occurred to me I was being edgy when i wrote that statement.
