I'd still say that weights followed by fasted low intensity cardio combined with a proper diet (diet is the key), you will see some great results regardless of age. I myself was 210lbs just over a year ago.

Anyway what I was trying to get across is that it's best to do low intensity (~65% HR) whilst in a fasted state and not higher intensity.

"Low intensity cardio is ideal for people who are in a fasted state. This allows them to burn off fat without having to worry too much about burning off muscle at the same time. Burning off 200 calories during low intensity cardio is more beneficial than burning off 200 calories during high intensity cardio if you are going for fat loss."

Okay, now I'm listening to you Joshh. going from 210 - 165 is not easy at any age. I thought you might have been 175 in high school and went down 10 lbs or something easy.

I did a split workout today 60 minutes fasted at 140-150 beats per minute in the am, then I did weight lifting tonight with a focus on shoulder and calves. I couldn't do as much cardio tonight as I am feeling pain in back and leg and felt totally wiped out so I stopped sooner. I don't want to agitate anything or make it worse.

I'm gonna stick with the fasted cardio because its EASIER than eating breakfast, waiting two hours and then exercising.
