The doses you referred to are not a problem unless you have a hypersensitivity to caffeine or take MAOIs which can have additive effects for some people. Even then, these doses generally are not life threatening.Originally Posted by MrMayhem
I've dosed as much as 1g of caffeine. Please DO NOT ever try that. I had some very serious side effects that scared the hell out of me and nearly sent me to the ER (actually I probably should have gone to the ER but my pride got in the way).
Most doses in caffeine pills or pre workouts will cause mild effects such as elevated heart rate, nervousness (the "jitters"), increased alertness and metal focus, rapid breathing, but should not be life threatening. It is a drug however and must be used wisely and not abused as it can have life threatening effects if safe doses are exceeded. Just because it is legal doesn't mean it has no risks with excessive use.
