what i do is this.
if i've laid off the weights for awhile, i will usually give my self some time to get used to it. the fist week, i'll go real light, just to get the muscles used to working. Second week is the bridge week. third week I am usually g2g.
I do this because i am trying to avoid injury. maybe you should try it to avoid your perceived weakened imuno system response?
