Ej: When I first began I could hit the sack for 10 rounds, now I barely get to 8. I'm frustrated that no matter how hard I train I feel weaker and worst I'm getting real sore the day after every workout. I don't know whats wrong. I'm eating good, taking my proteins and all round vitamins. Btw I'm fighting at 154. I make weight real easy tho. I sweat 4-5 pounds everytime I finish my workouts. So what do you guys recomend?
I don't think boxers should be doing weight training. Boxing training is very demanding, doing weights on top im not surprised you are burning out. Light fighters don't need weights, heavyweights maybe. But if your fighting at 154 do you see Floyd mayweather doing weights on 24/7 or paceman. Weight training tightens your tendons which effects your a agility.
    Im former amateur boxer myself.

Why do you want to take steroids, do you want to be a cheat. Steroids will give you a unfair advantage over your opponent, it's like say you have a weapon, say a baseball bat and your opponent only has his fists. You don't need me to tell you it wrong!

    from pacquiao's trainer

And yes, Ariza did put Pacquiao through some resistance training - which is still considered taboo in many boxing circles.

"I do use weights, but in the sense that they're not for cosmetic reasons," says Ariza, who stays away from compound lifts such as the bench press and military press. He believes in high reps with movements that will benefit a boxer inside the ring. "They're more to develop a quicker, faster response, a faster twitch-muscle fiber. They're designed to target those things like that. So the idea behind using light weight is also for flexibility and to develop a faster reflex."
