There's a million scenarios for anything and everything. You'll always have idiots trying something stupid. Boxed in or coming at you from behind, conceal your firearm and you'll have a better chance of getting out of most of these scenarios. Coming up from behind doesn't really matter. They don't know you're armed so you have that advantage. If there's a chance that they are not ballsy enough to actually shoot, then there's a chance you can get out of it. But if they plan on shooting to kill right then, well, nothing could save you... so it is what it is.

Anyway, guns in general when owned properly, prevent conflicts, burglaries, breaking and entering events, rape and a host of other situations. Guns in civil hands (again, when owned for the right reasons), have prevented more crime than they have caused deaths.

Some places are more densely populated with poor-practicing-gun-owners, and suppression by law results in adverse effects. Compare Chicago, IL and Houston, TX. Both have ~2.5 million population. Chicago does not allow concealed carry, Houston does. Chicago has ZERO, yes, ZERO gun shops, Houston has over 1000 shops. Chicago has close to 1000 homicides annually. Houston... a couple hundred.

Guns have EVERYTHING to do with the individual carrying them. Most people are afraid of guns. Because of that fact, I refuse to open carry. I just don't need a bunch of tree-hugging-hippies bothering me. I appreciate the message with respect to our rights, but most of these demonstrators that go out with a cardboard sign and a big ass gun are just asking for trouble. They WANT attention, not to actually send a message but to stir shit up and get some camera time for youtube. Nonsensical theatrics if you ask me. CONCEAL your firearm and avoid the headaches because the majority dominates and the majority are scared of guns. The majority will likely bother you.

I've drawn my gun twice in 20 years, and both times I've prevented a crime. Neither time was I threatened by a gun, just an individual.

It all depends on how you expose it. If by chance someone see it under your coat, shirt or some other way, no of course not. If you are in a confrontation with someone and you open your coat so they can see it to intimidate them or you are purposely exposing it then yes, it's considered brandishing.

Ive seen many people over the years who had concealed but I noticed. Ive never thought twice about it or considered them a risk in any way.

True. i have been to america twice and the only guns i saw were on police. I was just reading about in Florida were that video was they have those laws were you can defend your self. So lets just say that old bloke got up and blew the attackers head off he would be all good to go home wouldn't he?

Where I live concealed carry is legal with a permit and the LE in my area takes into consideration that it may become visible if the wind blows open your clothing, if you're reaching overhead, bending down, etc. However, if you're blatantly exposing the firearm you're in the wrong.
My local sherrifs office puts it this way: if a reasonable attempt was made to carry the weapon in a concealed manner, you're G2G.

Probably depends on the local LE. CCW is strongly encouraged where I live due to the amount of scum, idiots, substance abusers, trash that abuse other people, etc.
