Oregon Dune Fest 2016

I spend a bit more time on bikes than quads. Used to go to the dunes outside fallon nevada as a kid multiple times a year. But haven't been out to those Oregon dunes in almost 6 years. I have a couple yfz450s, one fuel injected with a fair amount of aftermarket. But also have a yzf450 that I ride most of the time. A few other machines. But right now my big project is building my CR500 afc. I've completely torn down the engine and replaced basically everything except the transmission. Bottom end rebuild, top end bore, clutch, collars, seals, bearings, etc. I have 450 dollars invested in a rolling chassis, and over 1500 in rebuilding the engine, plus new fmf fatty pipe and all that stuff. I'm hoping to do the frame conversion fairly cheaply. Get the thing going then worry about making it look nice. I need to have it done by winter since I am going to be putting a timbersled track on it for the snow, and already pre-ordered it.

I'm curious about your raptor, it looks really nice, I need to do something with my engine, it was painted once upon a time, and want to spruce it back up, because the engine is multicolored now. It was painted a nice grey, but stock black is coming through, and I replaced the inner side cover which is bare aluminum, so it is multicolored. I would really like to finish off the look of the machine with new plastics, some powder coating of parts etc, but that might wait till next year if I have funds again by then.

Ive ridden or should say been jeeping outside Fallon. I have a buddy who lives in Tahao and we spent the day/night at Fallon visiting another buddy who flew F18s. The next day when we were out jeeping we meet some other guys and just shooting the breeze and mentioned our buddy said he would try to do a fly by in his F18 and they got all weird actually saying we were full of sh*t and making things up. We were like Why would we do that, it's not that big of a deal and just as one of them started getting aggressive about it (really strange) 2 F18 did a LOW level fly by. The looks on their faces was priceless.

Ive ridden or should say been jeeping outside Fallon. I have a buddy who lives in Tahao and we spent the day/night at Fallon visiting another buddy who flew F18s. The next day when we were out jeeping we meet some other guys and just shooting the breeze and mentioned our buddy said he would try to do a fly by in his F18 and they got all weird actually saying we were full of sh*t and making things up. We were like Why would we do that, it's not that big of a deal and just as one of them started getting aggressive about it (really strange) 2 F18 did a LOW level fly by. The looks on their faces was priceless.

Haha. I miss the place. They always used to do those when I was a kid. Lots of memories there, including getting the nail and tip of my thumb cut off with a lava rock.
