    high bodyfat (strongman) and AAS

    Hi there,

i started my first cycle last week (test e 500 mg) after reaching the strength goals i set i wanted to reach before cycling. i have a relatively high body fat (18-20%) so my main concern is getting that down to around 12 as quick as possible. at first i thought i'd only use aromasin when i'd get estrogen sides but after reading a bit on here i saw a lot of people support just running 10 mg ed during the whole cycle so i started with 10 mg ed since yesterday. So here is my actual question: strongman usually have high bodyfat and therefore more estrogen, right? is the cure to this problem just taking an ai all the time during their cycles? is 10 mg ed enough when you're pretty massive? thanks in advance.

If you try to drop 8% bodyfat in such a short time your likely to lose muscle tissue as well. It has to be steady process in my opinion, unless you dont mind losing some muscle tissue

I thought that since it's my first cycle i'd be able to lose fat fast and not lose (a lot of) muscle. eating enough protein etc ofcourse. also using an eca stack for energy and reduced hunger. what about the question regarding strongman with higher bf and estrogen?

aromosin will cut down estrogen levels so you will not get too much fluid retention during cycle but it will not cut down body fat.

you might want to run something like clen + anavar, it will help you to get BF down.

i know it will not cut down bodyfat.. also i will not be using clen for cutting down to only 12% bf.

    Hey strongman,

First off your 21 yrs old you have no reason to cycle at all! Your playing w/fire shutting yourself down at this age - permanent damage can be irreversible - your HPTA is part of your brain and your endocrine system is far from fully developed -

Please don't suggest to run anything at the ripe age of 21 - you know as well as I do that this board is about safe AAS use not just using roids - it far more complicated strongman than what your proposing

thanks for your concern, but i'm aware of the risks and i'm willing to accept them. i'm planning on blasting/cruising anyways and i can live with possibility of trt for the rest of my life.

These are ongoing cases that this board will/keeps adding to(unfortunately) b/c they too, thought it may not happen to them... It may not either but the more you cycle the higher your chances for problems will be

Please just read as much as you can b4 doing anything brother - I'm just looking out for you and your safety(& long term life goals)

Read what Nach posted. Your 21, I think you need to re think your idea or running a cycle. I know you said you will accept them. It's not worth it. wait till your 26 then think about it. Trust me you will regret it if you run a cycle now. Could be on TRT rest of your life.

really i appreciate your concern, but i've seriously considered this and I am going to do this. as i said i plan on blasting and cruising, which will mean i am going to be on trt anyways (which imo has a lot of benefits too, especially when i'm older). Since I plan on competing in strongman on international level i don't want to train another 5 years being natural. seems like a waste to me. i know there are risks and that some people think i might regret this later on, but i'm not one of those guys that lift just to look a little jacked on the beach. a big part of my life revolves around lifting and the stuff that comes with it.

No one can answer your question ATM - yes an AI is always required from the start of any cycle/as is HCG - sorry to sound harsh but you should know these things or have an idea of how it works etc -

Read read read - at the top of this page go to the sticky planning and executing a successful cycle - has every answer you need if you are going to go thru w/this.... I'm not going to give you the bullet when you clearly have the gun already... I would feel horrible giving you advice on cycling at your age so therefore if this is what you want to do - all the info is here at your fingertips - not being an a$$ just don't like giving advice to kids to ruin there bodies!

Get your diet and training on point and that's how you grow and keep gains!

a lot of dutch sites (where i'm from) say an ai is only needed when you actually have sides like gyno etc. guess the opinions on this are different and that's okay. i am taking 10 mg of aromasin since yesterday and will continue to do so for the rest of my cycles and cycles to come (yes they will come ) I know about hcg but since i'm going to blast and cruise (and hate children) it won't be of any use to me. i can live with a small sack

You dont take an AI when you have gyno symptoms, you take an AI to prevent gyno.

Please read and educate yourself - your not up to par with how things work HCG has many other benefits - stimulates leydig cells - helps w/testicular atrophy - and most importantly it keeps your boys functioning while on cycle! Helps aid in a faster/better recovery!

Read the stickies if your dead set on possibly messing yourself up for life... There's much more to this than what your letting on

AI's and controlling estrogen is always necessary. Just google the effects of high estrogen in men. Gyno is the least of your worries and anyone who uses that as their gauge for estrogen is not using all their faculties.

When it comes to HCG. It is a very healthy thing to take as there are LH receptors throughout your body so it's effect is not just limited to your testicals, of which you do not seem to care about. I'll ask this, is there any other body part's you'd let shrink up and not care about?

You hate children. I wonder if your parents felt that way? Did you ever think that in a year or two you may feel different, maybe meet someone who changes your life and wants to have a family with you? As people grow they evolve. Right now you're thinking as a 21 year old, that's understandable. In five years odds are your life will be totally different. To use an old adage, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Especially in a sport where you really can't make a living off of it and doesn't come with a salary or health benefits.

In other words, be a little more responsible with your health and have a solid plan B in case this one fails. You can still pursue your dreams, just do it intelligently, not recklessly.

maybe I wasn't clear but i am going to BLAST AND CRUISE. i am not coming off and therefore i don't need hcg (at the moment.) running hcg for a long time is also not recommended.

to be honest i did not expect this much concern about my choices. It's not that i didn't think this through. before i started lifting i was very depressed and even had suicial thoughts. when i started lifting and got the hang of it the depression got less but it never fully went away. whenever i'm lifting and handling heavy weights is pretty much the only time i truly feel happy and i am very sure i will be lifting for the rest of my life. this may sound harsh, but i'd rather die than not be able to lift heavy weights. that's why i want to take it to the next level.

If you have had bad depression and suicidal thoughts i would be careful injecting powerful hormones no matter what ones age.

Personaly i wouldnt be cycling anything until my mind was clear of depression and suicidal thoughts for years.

    -

But answering your main question, id be running an AI and HCG through your cycle

And i would reconsider your "im never coming off" approach

I believe cycling is better than blasting and cruising, but each to their own

You said you did not expect this much concern, but hopefully that will enable you to realize that maybe there is something to reconsider. Imagine if you said you are thinking about drinking 3 liters of water each day instead of 2 liters. Do you think we would all be responding like this? Of course not.
But, the fact that we are should offer at least some evidence that there is something going on. We all know that you are going to do whatever you want. We are not here to force or expect you to do what we suggest. Look at it from our side though. We want to promote the safest use of these compounds as possible, that has been gained by thousands of us, many of whom have done this for decades. We were where you are now, and now have decades of experience and knowledge under our belts. Many of us got this knowledge by making many mistakes. We cannot change our own mistakes, but try to warn the younger guys in hopes of helping a few of them to avoid the problems some of us have carried with us ever since.

Strongman I was a competitive Powerlifter for Nearly 3 decades starting out around 16 years old. I had never touched a Steroid until I was almost 40 years old. I made huge gains by just training hard and being consistant. My nutrition was not always great when I was younger and we did not have nearly the amount of quality and effective nutritional supplements that we have today. That being said, AAS were a fairly big help in my late stages of powerlifting. However I felt my strength gains increased on a consistant basis throughout my years of training. It is a Marathon race and not a sprint race when it comes to mature muscle and real strength. Start AAS's too early usually leads to burnout and injury. If you do start be careful and try to REALLY listen and LEARN from the people who have gone down this road before you. Good luck

I am also 21 and relate to you very much in terms of my slight depression and how lifting is the only time i feel happy. I decided on giving my 100% to the only thing that makes me feel normal and happy so i decided on running a cycle to not only justify my long hours in the gym but to also have something to show for as lifting is more psychological to me than just participating in it as a hobby. The great guys here talked me out of it with some good points. I even though the test would bring some sense of well being back to my head but considering PCT makes you feel worse than you did BEFORE cycle, i couldnt imagine dropping that low without wanting to harm myself. So im off that train until i get myself straight and you should be careful too.

As far as bodyfat, the only time you can drop weight in a reckless manner without killing your muscle would be if youre maybe around 30+% BF. At 18-20 which is relatively average, crash dieting or excessive burning of calories and your lifts are going to suffer. I cut aggressivelyyyy from 35%+ to roughly 20% and i was okay and even had slight gains in lifts since i was still a noob, but now at roughly 18% my lifts are suffering with the same habits so id advise against it!

Incorrect on both points. Regardless, best of luck with things strongman.

besides recovery if i ever want to come off for some reason (which are special programs for) what would be the point of running hcg for years besides shrinking testicles and not being able to have children?

No... At low doses(500iu per wk/not exceeding 1000iu in a wk) will not desensitize your leydig cells!

Also, we need LH(as Kel mentioned above) and HCG is an LH mimitec therefore keeping functionality while 'on' cycle... I'd suggest reading the sticky I linked regarding HCG and why it should be used on cycle! Many other benefits than shrinking testicles

    You answered your own questions.
There are no "special programs" for this purpose. Internet dogma.
