USSR deserves most of the credit. Besides, the more I get to know eastern Europeans, the more I think Stalin was worse than Hitler. Germany never wanted war with "allied" powers. They were completely neutered after ww1 and weren't gonna tolerate it during the great global economic depression. They considered themselves equal to France, Britain, USA in terms of colonialism. Understandable.
After Germany pulled a 180 with massive deficit spending, they wanted to reclaim their lost lands (i.e. parts of prussia). There will also unsubstantiated claims of German human rights violations in Poland.
Stalin and Hitler agreed to form a pact and split up Poland. They agreed on a certain date to both invade at the same time. Stalin was clever by withholding his forces for several days with the intent of having Britain and France declare war on Germany. Only after they did, Stalin would move in to take his half of Poland. At this point, both Britain and France could not afford to go to war with USSR also....smart move. Hitler was pissed to say the least lol
But this was not enough for Stalin. He wanted more. He actually wanted to annex many of Germany's allies too. Germany wasn't going to get hustled like this anymore haha. There is a lot of supporting evidence that he was preparing to invade the rest of Europe anyway at some point..
Let's forget the roman empire, renaissance, etc..
Tell that to neo-nazis, kkk, ira, etc.
Muslims believe in Jesus Christ as a prophet of god. Prophet Muhammad was simply the next installment.
I do agree. Conservatism in the region needs to be stamped out. We need to support their secular progressives. Yes, this includes Al-Assad...for now.
This isn't just a religious issue. Geopolitics plays a big role. Iraq's Shia exclusive government needs major urgent reform otherwise militant groups will continue to exist.
Iran 1970 can happen again..
