Defiantly a human piece of garbage. From the sounds of the video it would appear he was using a bump stock or Gat rotory trigger device. The shots were to inconsistent to be a true automatic lower receiver.

The ROF was to inconsistent, sometimes it would speed up and sometimes slow
Down. Just makes me think of it not being a true auto equit gun. Either way it doesn't matter, lots of people are injured or dead for no reason.

I suspect that was acoustic change based on the direction the gun was pointing and what window he was at. You sure could be right on the bump stock theory. We will know soon.

Have you ever heard an m60 or m249 fired in an urban environment?

This was no bump stock, binary trigger or otherwise. This was not an AR style rifle. Some witness reports some people took 3 rounds to the chest, think about that for a second...

Full auto AR, shooting at distance, outside, from elevation. That's pretty remarkable grouping for a 64 year old who wasn't a "gun guy"...

And it DOES matter, this event is going to spur many laws, regulations and restrictions.

I think you see it too. Have you heard what guns were used? I'll I'm hearing is "assault rifle", as if there is such a thing. They need to just call in what they think. A "scary gun".

Always a weird term to me, my rifles have never assaulted anyone, and I leave them alone sometimes! Imagine the trouble they could get in bring unsupervised! I just have lazy guns I guess, just want to sleep locked away in thier cases all day....

I don't think they have officially named what he had but they say 23 at the hotel and 19 at home. They also found Tannerite at his home and ammonium nitrate (OKC bombing ingredient) in his car. A gun store in north LV has confirmed they sold him firearms (un named) over the past 12 months and that he passed all background checks.

Better by some stock in whatever company makes metal detectors, they are going to be EVERYWHERE!!!!!

Bump stock was what I was thinking..I converted sks's when I was young because they were cheap and easy to convert and we burned through barrels like it was nobody's business..ppl don't really appreciate the difference in a good M-16 or a AR or a Chinese AK vs a Russian one..those guns were made for mass killings..either way this guy musta planned this for awhile a lot of guns and ammo taken outta that room kinda curious what kind..at least kill some people that need to be killed not a bunch of good people having fun at a country concert..go to a child molester prison (they have them) and unload on the yard..the guards will probably wait a few 100 Mississippi's before half assed trying to stop..there is some evil people out there and I would have no problem putting a bullet through there skulls but c mon'

Binary Trigger= fire on the trigger pull and trigger release.

Bump Stock or Slide Stock. When fired the recoil of the rifle "slides," backwards on the shoulder brace or "Stock." A spring launches the rifle back forward causing the shooters trigger finger to engaged and disengage the triggers faster than they could with the usually semi auto fire rate. Semi auto = 1 shot for one trigger pull for those that may not know the terminology. Full auto is multiple rounds per trigger pull limited to ammunition capacity or if the shooter disengages the trigger.

Old Vietnam vet. Taught me how with bungee cords. He said the gooks would have belt fed rifle hanging and would leave it firing while they peeled out the back when the Americans were raining down.

That's smart, I was thinking about dropping a binary trigger into my AR prior to this all. But I need to stock up on 30 round mags quickly. This is the first mass shooting which used high capacity mags of 50 or more. From the vids he must have had a 100 round drum mags.

It just kills me, I could never look at a fellow American citizen and separate them from me enough to justify killing them. I honestly do not believe we hate each other as much as politicians and the media would have us believe. I guess having a free press that is accountable to no one is both a blessing and a curse.

Keep in mind these are all semi auto rifles that have a mechanism that allows the rifle to "mimic," the full automatic features of military grade rifles. However, at least as the law is defined at this point. These rifles would still not be classified as full auto rifles without these modifications.

Only if the internal trigger mechanism within the lower receiver of the rifle was altered in such a way as to have a mechanism called a "auto shear," in the trigger assembly would the rifle be considered fully auto.

Here is a good video that illustrates the difference between semi auto and full auto. Even though the model says AR15 which is a civilian rifle. The mechanism they are describing in the full auto version of the video is for military M16. M16 internal m16 parts are not innerchangable with AR 15 parts. So don't be confused by that. Although they look cosmetically the same on the exterior. they share very few internal parts and configurations. A good machinest could probably modify some key parts in the civilian configuration but they are few and far between in skill and want.
