    I just watched a news brief from UK they have a new mutation of covid even worse. There shutting down Christmas.....

    Viruses are clever little things; they like to survive & thrive.

    Surprise, it’s us again, oh you didn’t recognize us, it’s cause we changed our antigens. Now, let’s see if your fancy vaccine that you made for our old version works quite as well. If it does, guess what, we can change again .

    Talking with some friends yesterday; seems they may be looking forward to a pending nurses strike in a couple of weeks. Can you believe it, they are complaining they are being overworked and spread too thin. And geez, they want adequate PPE, because it’s running low. I mean, how selfish can you get.

    I seen that as well. Nurses and healthcare workers in general are fighting a hell of a battle right now

    They are, and even if we were to be assholes and ignore their individual wellbeing (which we shouldn’t do for obvious reasons), their striking over these things makes sense from a “common good” perspective.
    If they allow themselves to be open vectors for a disease, it risks spreading it even further than it would have if the patients were all just left to die.
    Least harm and all that.
