That's a crock of shit. Anybody who's ever humped a ruck knows that lightening a grunt's basic load by 20# just makes him eligible to carry three more 60mm HE rounds and two more claymores. Don't never give a pack mule a break (makes him lazy).


RE: the polymer-cased ammo, I guess this was sort of inevitable, considering caseless ammunition seems to be dead in the water.

I remember when I first heard about HK's caseless ammunition project. That was in the mid-70s and it probably already was about a decade old by then. 40+ years on and it still ain't much more than got out of the blocks.
