If in fact Swift did flee, then that doesn't really bode well for his innocence... Couple that with his radical decision to abandon 5 children (this is what I heard, that he had 5 kids) and desert from the navy... Shows me that he fit right into some aspects of the SPECWAR mindset.
Yeah, I was kind of wondering if all of the domestic issues, etc. were working on his mind and he headed to a "familiar" environment or he felt he was undoing some of the chaos he created in his personal life. Hard to say.

I still respect the man for his good years, but the part about leaving children behind is just a f-in shame.
