By the way when I said 'file' in my other post, I meant the kind of file that's stored on a computer hard disk (not the kind of file you hold in your hand to grind metal). I meant a computer file containing all the data required for the CNC machine to make the cylinder.

You're not going to find any legal Catia, Pro-E, Hypermill, etc. files or map it out accurately enough. Can't do it with a CMM because you need the basic dimensions to program the CMM

You would be violating several laws. Additionally, you'll never get the ratchet for the cylinder graduated to index. The material just isn't there nor will you have enough material left for cartridge extraction.
