    Oh yea- forget the whole pull up bar dangling raises thing... you can't focus on abs that way. You have to worry about hanging there as well as not swinging. I even use the straps at home. I bought one of those stupid lat pull up bars that goes in your door frame and just connect the arm bands to that to hang from. As long as you find something that can hold your weight to connect those arm straps to and dangle.... no excuses to not do the routine 3 times a week...

    Not to bring up the fat debate again but...

    Would the correct % be 18-20% of your body's cells are fat cells whereas other people refer to the % as what % of your body weight is fat (not including bone marrow fat)

    This discussion was 2 pages ago..... and I'm not gonna add 2 more pages commenting but I'm at about 14-17% in that pic.

    He could just hold fat in different areas... I have abs tegardles of bf but I also have love handles under 6%. How bf is distributed is crazy on some ppl... Ever see a 30%bf person with veined out forearms but a huge gut...

    +1... I have a killer 6 pack after a month of plowing down 3 McRib's a day! The two love handles on the side make it 8.

    BTW.. MOST important.... minimal rest between those ab sets. 1 minute or less. I go non-stop from one to the other but that took a while to work up to... Again.. start with low reps and work up.

    I agree that you might be around 14% in that pic...I would not put you as high as 17% though (bone marrow fat or not lol)

    Okay- lets say 14%. I weighed in at 177.2 lbs the day before which I know is accurate because I had to weigh in pre-fight.     There is a dude the same height as me claiming to 20 lbs bigger than I am, with 8% body fat.... after one cycle; at 24 years old. LOL Gets annoying after I spent over a full decade more than him in the gym cycle or no cycle...

    Just because someone has been in the gym less time than you dosent mean anything. Look at Jeff Seid. He's 18 years old and looks better than any of us ever will.
    Phil Heath became an IFBB pro bodybuilder after being a college basketball player in only 6 years.
    Stop using your experience in the gym as a gauge of someone elses stats. You may be right about everything you said, i'm not gonna question it, whether I believe it or not. But some people have great genetics and some don't. Simple. Honestly I believe the dude was that low. One of my buddies got second in Oregon for physique. He's only 19. Probably had lower than 8% on the day of competition. He's been in the gym for around 4 years now. I've been training since I was eleven and still haven't competed yet. Time in the gym doesn't matter as much as work ethic.

    shit i have a 6 pack right now and im 25%bf! i never have to do crunches to keep my abs. i just finished eating 6 mcrib sandwiches and am about to have a bowl of ice cream. all you guys on this forum are a bunch of liars and losers! yall fVcking stupid if u think you cant have abs at 25% body fat!

    even arnold schwarzeneggar never got below 10% body fat he just didnt have as many fat cells as yall do because he watched what he ate when he was a kid!

    the best way to tell what your true body fat percentage is is to measure the circumference of ur dick and multiply it by 2.375!!

    Actually- its an 8 pack but my BF levels are too high to see the other two. And I told you ALL you need to do to get under 10% BF is get to 1,000 posts and all is good.

    i did try the swimming kicks and they were tuff but i did em wrong cuz it was before the explanation..

    id also like to note i worked last nite from 1900 - 0500 this am and was up at 0900 and back to work at 1300 and im still here til 0000! think im doing pretty good on 3 hrs sleep!

    oh and i have to be back tomorrow at 0700..

    i think the biggest prob i have is how people that have really good abs look like theyre flexing all the time and i cant figure out how they do that! but at least now i know thats what the problem is.. i used to think it was because their bf% was really low but im starting to think theres more to it than that. like the transversus abdominis.

    those deep separations between the muscles that are there all the time

    Yea- flexing ab muscles is difficult without having strong transversus. You can also suck in your stomach, hold for 30 seconds, and do a bunch of reps when doing pretty much anything. That will also work them but it doesn't give the same amount of tension on the muscles as the hanging exercises. The deep separation will be there when you have both transversus and rectus in shape as they sit on top of each other so it looks a lot deeper especially when you have a little tan going on.

    LOL.. i didnt have time dude i did legs tonite and only had about 40minutes! it was a stretch to get in what i did! gonna have to work on time management.. maybe buy the things to hang at the house and do my abs in the man cave 3 nites a week.. kinda what im thinking
