Just wanted to bring up a topic I have never seen discused on the boards .Its about eye health and steroids.While some may know about this side effect, I'm sure many don't. I was at the eye doctor last summer after a cycle and the pressures in my eyes were way high.Now I have had elevated levels all my life..something to do with the size of my eyes.But now I have to take drops to lower them.Btw I only do one spring/summer cycle a year so its not too bad but some heavy users may be raising the pressure and not even no it.If you have good vision you may not even see an eye doctor.This elevated pressure can lead to glaucoma.So get your eyes checked in between getting your bloodwork so your not big dumb AND blind.LOL

I don't think so.Apparently drugs like prednisone, inhaled steroids and even some otc cold meds can elevate optic pressure.There is a drainage system in your eye with fluid.High pressure from what I undersand is when the fluid does'nt drain freely and can damage the optic nerve.kinda scary stuff cause there usually are no symptoms with glaucoma.Just a good idea to have your eyes checked and remain healthy along with every thing else.I just take drops while I'm on and a few months after

All of those steroids you mentioned (Inhaled Steroids, Prednisone, etc.) are Corticosteroids, not Anabolic Steroids.

It's probably related to high blood pressure that often comes with steroid use. My Opthomologist also mentioned this. Something we should all think of when getting eyes examined.

All of those steroids you mentioned (Inhaled Steroids, Prednisone, etc.) are Corticosteroids, not Anabolic Steroids.

What an Ironic thread I just read and article about diabetes and blindness, and how cortical steroid injections can cause the reversal of blindness.....

interesting. I just read today in my college human anatomy textbook that certain oral steroids and tamoxifin can contribute to glaucoma. It didn't say why however.

I have heard of the glaucoma issue before, but I thought it was relational and not causal in its effect.

I have had slightly elevated levels that never prompted anything other that a yearly checkup,no meds.After my cycle I had a checkup and my pressures where almost double.My doc asked if I did steroids.I said no but had done test boosting suppements and he said stop as it could contian steroids(yeah right)After researching it seems this is a known side effect of steroids.Google is your friend.The fact that I have pressures a little higher than some does'nt mean it only effects me.Another point is that many people don't ever have the pressures taken for a simple vision test and may not even know they have elevated levels. just be aware of this.BTW my vision has been 20/30in one eye and 20/20 in the other all my life and have never needed glasses.Perfect vision has nothing to do with pressures.If gone underected is when you'll have a problem later in life as it will eventually damage the optic nerve.

Please cite these Googled sources, as a VERY CURSORY review of the following respected ophthalmology journals, returned no DIRECT correlation between steroids (therapeutic-cortico or anabolic) and negative eye conditions of any sort.

as i said in my first post and as well as magic......some data related to your claims would be appreciated. and in your quote above you say perfect vision has nothing to do with pressures......are you sure? if the pressure is too high or too low your vision will definitely not be perfect. and i never said it only affects you, however i have never heard of this before, so for me to understand better i would like to read a relative article or study relating to this. google is your friend........

Oh im glad you drew your own conclusion..I guess that's that. Listen i really am not trying to start anything but rather relaying my experience with you and could care less if you believe me.Now,i'm not so good on a computer and don't really know how to post a link but it didn't take me long to put in a search. Look under glaucoma and steroids or ocular pressure and you'll find it. Not going to effect everyone the same and is probably not as common as you needing a bra..but it is a side effect. My pressures had been below 20 all my life which is on the high end but still normal..and went to almost 30 after a cycle.I hadn't discussed steroids with my doc ,who btw is very well respected. He asked me if i was on any type of steroid like prednisone.Then he said "you don't do anabolic steroids do you"I got a little worried and told him no.But he hit the nail right on the head.I had no idea and thats why im telling you guys. if you read my other post i said inhaled steroids cortisone prednisone and drugs alike all can have this effect.He is not just hating an anabolic steroids. I'm not trying to scare anyone but if you do steroids you better damn site be open to all possible side effect! If your not open to educate yourself and want to get all deffensive than you are a perfect candidate not to juice!!

BTW, macular degeneration is a common eye condition that can happen genetically..but usually happens with age and has nothing to do with high ocular pressure.

Otherwise, it's tantamount to shooting some testosterone into yourself, and then walk down the stairwell in your house and trip and fall down the stairs and say the steroids you're taking destroy your co-ordinatory abilities because of what happened.

but you still have not shown it to be a side effect, you have just said it is a side effect unsubstantiated. did you even click on the link i posted in my thread????????????????????? and all you have to do to post a link is right click in the address box, click copy, then right click and click paste it in the box here. it is not hard at all. but just because your doc asked if you juice doesnt mean that its a side effect. it could be a routine question asked on many medical flow sheets. they have a myriad of questions that they follow along with. and i never said anything about macular degeneration, it was macular edema. there is a difference. listen it shouldnt be that difficult to come up with information, other than, "my doc asked if i was juicing and hit the nail on the head." i mean what if he asked you if you consumed alcohol......would that mean alcohol causes it? hey bro it didnt take me long to prove you wrong, it was the first or second link i hit on. how about this......just find something and type the website out or the link name or something, just back it up. if not then forget about it. or click the link i posted above and read it, and then disprove it. if what you say is true you should not have a hard time......... if not you can admit that maybe you made a mistake .......its not the end of the world.

Actually there are literally thousands of studies on anabolic steroids, ranging from older adult health, aids patients, burn victims and athletes. It is a major area of research.
