    swelling feet?

    Gday,
I have just started week 4 of my cycle 500mg test e, i have been a bit slack on my cardio (only few sessions a week) and this mourning i went for a road run. after about 2km i could not run any more due to pain in my calfs and shins (like very bad lactic acid which did not go away until awhile after i got home). when walking back i noticed that my toes had started to become numb and when i took my shoes of my fit had swelled a little. My last legs session was 4 days ago.

Has anyone had an experince like this before or has any idea why. Do you think it could be related to my cycle? Any ideas on how to stop it?

    All adive is greatly appriciated.
    Cheers

It is either your running form that is causing the stress, or your shoes aren't cushioned to absorb the shock of running.

Get a runner to observe your form or buy a new pair of shoes...Ever since I bought some Air Max 360's, running has become bearable for me both outside and on the treadmill.

Did you try to relase your shoes? Sometimes it they are to tight, a knumbness can occur from lack of blood circulation. Trust me, I have run more miles than most can count, with training for triathlons and cardio for my sport....

The other things could be problems with your heart, which you need to have a physician to check or lower back problems causing an impingement on a nerve. I would guess around your S4 or S5 region.

I've heard of some people getting this extreme leg pump.

They tried using taurine pre-workout and it helped. Search for taurine on here and you can find it. I don't remember what they used for dosages off the top of my head. Something around 2000mg pre workout i think.

Was researching taurine, how does it work to combat the pump and swelling?

I meant to say L4 or L5 area in your back....

Gravity and running can cause the fluid build if you have some type of constriction(big pumps as some have said). You want feel the leg pains in swimming or rowing as you will in running(lots of pounding). When you get your new shoes make sure you have someone that is experienced in shoes that fit and coorespond to your running style or gate(pronation, neutral, or overpronating.

Do you think it might be fluid? Check your Bp just in case. You could be holding fluid. During fluid accumulation (ascities) swelling shows up around the ankles, feet and around the belly. Hard to tell without looking at you. It doesn't sound like it though if you are running & you know yourself. But if you found yourself out of breath sooner than usual, that can be an indication. Oh & a high BP isn't always an accurate indication of fluid accumulation but a urinalysis (UA) would tell you. It's worth checking when your cycling. I do regular Urinalysis. Tells you how hydrated you are, it can indicate how your kidneys are functioning & if your leucocytes are up (infection). Worth knowing about if your into sport or exercise where you put your body through rapid fluid loss & re hydration repetitions. You can buy kits from the pharmacy and interpret results online.

i'm not really sure. i've never had to deal with the problem. depending how busy i am this week in the lab i might be able to pull out a few physiology books and look at why it would help.

i get the pain in the shins and calfs as well when im on, runnings definatly a no no, try using a cross trainer in the gym untill you finish your cycle, after you finish the leg pumps will go away. not too sure why you would get swollen feet though ...
