Re: Sports Fans
Judging by the amount of threads and posts in this sub forum...it seems like we don't really have too many sports fanatics out here

I read a thread a while back that was about how sports is a waste of time. I cant tell you how many members agreed with that and chimned in on their dislike of sports. Made me hate all of them instantly.
I love just about every sport except soccer. Imo, the playing feild is way to big and the action slow. Not to mention that the players wear silk uniforms. However, soccer is great for kids and women. Im not going to debate this, just my 2 cents.

I hope it means they're playing sports, instead of only talking about the sports accomplishments of others. I can't stand sports fanatics who don't run or lift weights or do anything.

No offense, but the Cubs are only going one direction, and it's straight down. Watch out for the Dodgers. They have one of the best pitching staffs in all of baseball, and their offense is starting to look prettty decent itself.

Steroid talk everyday in baseball makes me hate it! Love College football College basketball, and pro football though!! Not a big fan of Pro basketball, but love watching Labron James highlights, Can't imagine how awsome some team would have been if he would have went to college.

^^^^That was jacked up! Kinda like that one hockey player that jacked the dude in the side of the head from behind and broke his neck when he hit the ice. Someone shoulda broke his neck for that cheap shot!!!
Yeah Kobe is awsome he would have led some colleges to national titles, but I think given time Labron will be better than kobe if he isnt already. But I dont think Greg oden has sh!t on them. However Kevin Durant for Texas is insane he has something like 19 double doubles and has scored 30+ in 18 of last 21 games, and he's a FRESHMAN, if he put some more size on his frame he would be even more unstopable than he is now.

aren't even close to all his highlights!

First of Lebron is in his 3rd season and Kobe is in his 8th so we have 5 years to figure that out. Also all of Kobe's rings came when they had Shaq on the team too, and those to together were unstopable, not to mention all the elbows kobe has been throwing, he doesn't do any good suspeneded. I can almost guarantee Lebron will pass Kobe in assist, points, blocks and rebounds by his 8th year compared to where Kobe is now!

Last time I remember, I've never once heard anyone mention LeBron's or Wade's Defense.
Remember basketball is played on both ends on the floor, and just like Arena's, Wade and Lebron focus 75% of their energy on the offensive end and 25% on the defensive.
Sure Kobe had Shaq for their three championships, but Kobe played a major factor in those championships.
Don't forget that one person can't win championships. For all the personal glory that Lebron is acheiving, he's still not close to championship caliber.
If Kobe didn't have Shaq when he first entered the NBA, and was the #1 Option coming out as a rookie, his first three years would've been right on cue with Lebron's.
Lebron right now is alot more exciting to watch, but Kobe's fundamentals and jumpshot are uncomparable to LeBron.

hahah he git caught because he is slow...lebron will never get caught.,..its all cool...Im just messing...Kobe IMO is now the best player... btw. dude silvia, I have to disagree with you when you said the dodgers have a good rotation...I mean Schmidt is just not reliable...and who else?..hmm... sinker baller '?...not like when he was for boston...but I think they can win West due to West is the least competitive in all MLB... but never world series....sorry to break your hope

Jim Rome says Kobe is just not a good person ... that's why he smacked Ginobli in the face and elbowed Korver last week ... but on a side note ... I can't stand Jim Rome

The only thing Lebron doesn lead him in is Points 1.8 a game less, but shoots less, .001% off on 3 point percentage, and the ONLY TRUE KILLER free throws 86% to 68%
But dont say lebron isn't defense, his stats prove otherwise Blocks, steals, and rebounds all better than kobe.

Individual statistics are really distorted in sports. A perfect example of this would be Steve Nash. His assists per game are extremely impressive, however, it tells me that he's got some good guys scoring the ball off of his passes. Put him on a team such as the Hawks and I'm willing to bet that his assists per game average is much less than what it is with the Suns.
Kobe and Lebron are in similar scenarios in that they have a very mediocre supporting cast around them. Both are great players, but is one better than the other? Maybe. But when all is said and done at the end of the season, an NBA TEAM is handed the championship trophy. Rather than to an INDIVIDUAL.
ESPN Sportscenter, marketing, and individual statistics are ruining professional sports in my opinion.

Yeah except Pro basketball, however still a team doesn't play that way often enough, thats why alot of people look down on it, unlike college, where if you have a team thats good with a bunch of guys averaging double figures there going to be awsome, even if you dont have a 20-30+ scorer on your team. Thats why so many mid majors are good, they have awsome team chemistry.
Thats why I love college basketball so much more than pro's. Just love the lebron highlights on ESPN
