    PGA "Roid Testing"

Has anyone been paying attention to the drug testing for "Steroids ", that the PGA ia harping about? WTF!

The senior's division president said they will adapt the same policy for players over 50. This is a serious waste of money. They are drug testing 65 year olds for steroids! This country has lost its poor little mind.

This brings up an interesting question= What if they are on HRT at 65? Is this still cheating?

Finchem just wants to see his name in the paper, it's ridiculous. There are no steroids in the PGA. Everyone that thinks Tiger is using PED's is crazy, the guy just has a lot of talent and an incredible work ethic. In fact Tiger has even recommended PED testing before. Golf is a game of skill & technique, based on honesty, steroids have no place.

The balls & equipment have made huge improvements since the likes of Sam Snead, Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson were around. That is the only advantage todays' golfers have.

Steroids aren't going to make a difference when you have a 5 foot putt, with a Green Jacket on the line. When they invent the pill to stop 3-putts let me know, i'll start selling them. We can get rich, retire, and play a lot more golf.

Steroids and golf do not mix. The assumed advantages would not outweigh the other elements of the game.... This is what you will probably hear from any avid golfer over 40 years of age. I happen to agree with that statement.

Nothing surprises me anymore. Golf could be altered and (IMO) tainted in no time at all. I don't even follow the NFL or NBA anymore. The lowbrow culture that has been infused in these two institutions is laughable.

Tiger Woods is looking huge lately, but his driving distance has gone down since he was younger and had better flexablility. Steroids have almost no advantage to a golfer it is more about good swing mechanics than strength.

He is much bigger lately, but that is because strength training is a big part of his routine. Unlike many other tour pros, that either do not utilize weights in their training or very little. The strength training Tiger uses benefits him in other areas other than driving distance, i.e. stamina, tendon/joint strength, posture, power generated from hips/legs, etc...

I say more power to Tiger, his training methods obviously help him, he dominates the sport. He also prides himself on being healthy and having an athletic body type, unlike Mickelson, who looks like he eats a tub of ice cream every night before bed...

Well just my opion but surely aas could be useful in golf, like was previously mentioned an increase in stamina would help and i don't see how an increase in strength would be bad, a golfer could hit the ball the same distance but only hit it with say 90% power and increase driving accuracy. Obviously other aspects are important but to a pretty good golfer this may be an edge to win more prize money than he would without the help of aas.

Oh and if you want help with 3 putting try beta blockers! Don't know how many people here will be familiar with snooker (it's a bigger version of pool) but a professional player in the UK was caught using beta blockers a few years ago, they helped him stay calm on pressure shots!
