I'm curious (and foreign, yep) about this game, i mean i really don't get how you can maintain any excitement.
The basic game is an hour, split into quarters. Quarters? 15mins? Is this right?
The half time break is about 15 mins, same as euro fussbull.
Any time someone falls over the clock stops.
Each team gets to stop the clock (how long?) three times (in each half!).
Holy Hell!
Either,
a) you all have ant-sized bladders, or
b) target audiance suffers from Attention Deficit Disorder, or
c) ten minutes without an advert is pushing it.., or
d) all the above
OK, fussboll may not be your cup of.. err... but 2-3 hours sat watching blokes taking a break every ten mins, if a coach lets them go that long, can't be alot more fun than hiring a lazy twat to paint your bathroom (slowly, say over two days lmao) and spying on him. Occasionally. haha hehe
Or am i missing the point?Last edited by Bio-boosted; 05-01-2009 at 11:12 PM.

This is why I can't watch basketball. Last minute of the game takes half an hour.
But FYI basketball is at least as physically demanding as soccer. You're comparing apples to oranges. Basketball is nearly constant sprinting. All players are always involved in every play. You don't get to rest on offense or defense. I played both sports in highschool, and basketball required a higher level of conditioning.

Lets not go there.
Seems like every sports thread goes downhill because of a "my sport is better than your sport" thing.
Completely different sport. Don't like it, don't open the thread.

I like both sports. I was just trying to explain the physical demands of basketball to someone who doesn't have any experience with it.
