    Baseball This Year

This went from looking to be a good season to now a possibly shitty season.

We lost Pappelbon to the Phillies, Wakefield retired and Varitek might be hanging it up too.

WHY COULDN'T WE JUST GET RID OF DICE K INSTEAD????????????

There are only two things that matter in baseball:
    1) The Red Sox win

    2) The Yankees lose

As for the Rays, I'm surprised they didn't get rid of all their good players.

I'm w/ya on #2. Why in the hell did the Sox get rid of Pappelbon?

And yeah, i don't know why over the last 2 years the Rays have traded some of their best talent. Such as Crawford, as i know you liked that little addition. But, they do have the best rotation in baseball coming into the season.

    We'll see how this turns.

The Red Sox get two extra draft picks plus they get to save the money Pappelbon costs. He was looking to make over $12 million for the next 3-4 years and he doesn't even pitch 70 innings a year. They've got a payroll for the 2012 season already at $150 million. That pretty much is on par with the Yankees and the Sox are in a smaller market.

The Rays always let their good players leave. They just don't want to pay to keep them. I don't imagine TB is a good baseball area anyways. I always see their bleachers empty. You guys don't deserve a good team. You're just lucky you have one hell of a farm system and good scouts.

The problem is the location of Tropicana Field. It's a nice park despite what the commissioner says. I see them moving to North Tampa or just outside Tampa off I-4 somewhere. Not to mention that there's usually about 1,000 other things to do in the area. Tough competition for anyone.

And i'm proud that they have a good farm system. When was the last time the Yankmee's or the Sox actually used theirs?

I'm pretty sure Papelbon and Rivera went through their farm clubs.

But yeah, Tampa has a good farm system, but as soon as their players have a good year they sign with other teams. TB is like the farm system for the rest of the league.

I'm not a fan of the Angels, but watch out for them this year, they have 3 legit aces, and adding Pujols was a "minor" pick up. Sorry to all you AL East fans, but I see Anaheim vs Detroit in the ALCS.
