George Foremans Return
If any of you saw the most recent Lewis fight you would have seen the announcment made by George Foreman. George Foreman says that he would like to return to the ring at 55 years old. He lost the heavyweight title in 97 against shannon briggs. The question is do you think george forman should try to get in the ring.

"Larry Merchant, Foreman's broadcasting colleague, speculates that the two-time heavyweight champion is more interested in publicity so he can sell more of his fat-reducing grills than he is in winning the title for a third time."
I agree, I feel this is more of a publicity stunt than anything else...

Shit. Everyone already owns a george foreman grill. Fuck, I have three of them because some people keep thinking it is a great gift for someone who is not married. Yeah but not three frickin times. Um this is nice but you got me one for my birthday remember.
Anyway, that guy is still a bad ass but Tyson cant even compete with todays boxing athletes. George hits SO DAMN HARD AND SOLID it is like getting hit in the head by a truck. Just his right jab while he is stationary knocks down boxers.
Odds wouldnt be good in Vegas but I think it would be a good show since it is hard to knock the fucker down.
Anyone want a foreman grill? Im selling a couple on EBAY.

down goes foreman... down goes foreman
That was then ..today...I'd love to see it..he's got a sledgehammer right..and his jab would frustrate all of them..and If you watched that Briggs fight..it was bs..Foreman won that fight all the way, Briggs had one solid round..How cool would that be to see him step in there and school all these so called heavy weights?

He really doesn't have anything more to lose. I think he's a great person, but he lost my respect as a boxer years ago. Any future Foreman fight will be a pathetic display, but he won't get knocked out.

publicity stunt and he wants to see if he still has it. He'll probably get his ass kicked by a younger more in shape guy...is he wanting to fight Lennox?

I remember watching the Forman/ Michael Moor fight. I think that fucking thing was fixed. Forman could did not give a good show in the least. I was happy to see when Roy jones Jr knocked his ass down. Needless to say he lost

well, if somebody was smart they would box him tho and win on points - I dont think George could go down on almost any hit - and all he needs to do is hit you ONCE - and a strait jab at that - even tyson in his day could not punch like george - but I doubt he would really do it

If he really wants to do it i am positive he can get himself in shape to compete with 80-90% of the top guys today.. but unless he wants to do it that bad it will be a **** show and they'll have him fight a few no mammeres to get him ready then when he goes for a title he'll get ****ed...

Ali vs Foreman?????? I saw it mentioned above. I would respond to this with a quote from Foreman himself.
He did an interview on the Tonight Show, years ago when he made the comeback to the championship.......
Foreman was asked if he thought he still had enough to be the champion....
Foreman: "Yes, absolutely. If I had know then, what I know now...I would still be the Heavy Weight Champion."
Interviewer: "What's that"
Foreman:"I would have know not to ever fight Ali. That guy was great."
Foreman is a class act. If he is doing this to sell more grills...who cares...maybe he will sell more of them. Good for him. He is a standup guy, and a **** fine role model in athletics.
