Seriously, yes this is a true statement. Well MASS if you think about it, most of the college coaches who go pro, have always had a team (college) which respected them and always had a solid foundation built at the univ. So the transition is prob. very hard if impossible for some. Spurrier was an AWESOME coach I guess we will have to give it a few more years for him to settle. Originally Posted by mass junkie

The NFL is more of a level playing field when it comes to recruiting. In college, Spurrier's reputation could draw in elite players and he could build a team that suits his style. Now all of a sudden he's got to put up with a draft and free agency. With drafting he can't simply go after whoever he wants now, and the free agents he can go after aren't so easily influenced by a coach's reputation when other teams are waving millions of dollars in their faces. Listen here jive turkey. The gators only lost because the coaches wife got sick at half time and the team knew of this. Well, feeling bad for the coach and his wife the teams moral was low.
