Oily skin ?
I have been dealing with oily skin on my face (forehead & nose area) with alcohol wipes. I would like to find a soap to wash my face with that will take care of the oil issue. What soaps have you used with success for dealing with oily skin?

Alcohol wipes will remove the oil from the surface your skin, but won't fix the problem. Some sources say it can stimulate more oil production, making it worse over time. The only thing I have ever of that will cure oily skin is a drug called Accutane - but the risks, side effects and cost might not be worth it.
I know of no soaps that will help, but a gel called OC Eight will definitely keep it under control for most of the day. Gels that contain Benzyol Peroxide will also do a good job of keeping your skin dry, but a lot of people (including me) can get a rash/reaction from it.

I have been dealing with it for years aas makes it worse. Little white/black heads. My nose is full. My face is like just a film of oil like puss. Not acne just oil film, ya gotta squeeze it to see it. Except for the oily film. It's like I just keep producing this oil just hour after hour, I can wash and in and hour it's there. I can exfoliate and wash and it comes right back.
It's horrible. ...crazy mike

Thanks for the advice on the different soaps, there's 0% chance of me using accutane.

I have crazy oily skin, I notice that if I clean to often, it makes it worse. I limit soap use on my face to once per day, any more and I produce oil faster, even before I went on test with low-t.

Oops, I forgot I started this thread. My wife gave me a bar of some kind of face soap made by Mary K (she sells the stuff to get the discount). I have been washing my face first thing in the AM after I shave & in the shower in the PM. So far so good, my skin stays fairly oil free unless I sweat a lot at work, the bad is that's every day at work......
I'll ask her the name of it tonight & post it here.

First test cycle. Running test c I'm at the end of the fifth week and my skin is getting bad. A light film on it almost all the time. Getting a little acne to. I realize this is the price of doing business but it still sucks. Good to hear I'm not alone.

This routine is not just for women, men will benefit from it just as much! Also works great if you have acne.
Step 1: Use a cleanser in the morning and at night, you want something really gentle and nothing that will irritate the skin. (Cetaphil gentle cleanser is the best, and it's pretty cheap... Pat your face dry with a clean towel. Let your skin dry for about 10 minutes.
Step 2: Apply 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Gel all over your face in a thin even layer, avoiding near your eyes and mouth. (You don't need any higher than 5%, even 2.5% will work fine.) Let it dry completely for 10-15mins.
Step 3: The Benzoyl will make your skin VERY dry, you must use a moisturiser afterwards to keep the balance in your skin. Hydrating the skin is very important, even for people with very oily skin. Cetaphil also makes a great daily moisturizer that is also pretty cheap.
This will work for anyone dealing with bad skin - If you follow properly. You probably only need to do the last 2 steps at night, but make sure to always keep your skin clean! Cleansing in the morning makes a huge difference.
Also, if you have acne, DO NOT pick at it. It will only make it worse.

It depends how bad your skin in, but it should start working right away. After a week your skin should be drastically better.

Topical L-Carnitine is the best thing you can do for oily skin.
