How essential are they? I eat tuna daily and salmon 3-4 days week do I still need to supplement them and if so will an omega 3 supplement bo enough or do I need Omega 3,6,9?

if you are eating that much fish, then imho you should be g2g. It is far better to bet your nutrution from whole foods than from caps and tabs. I just got a book that rates supplements and surprisingly, Centrum gets only one star and Costco's Kirkland gets 1.5 stars out of 5. So even when you think you are doing the right thing by supplementing, if the supplement you are taking is weak or underdosed, you probably are not getting the bennies you think you are. Again, whole foods is best.

I like flax seed oil, or something like UDOs over fish oil, equally good for 3:6:9 but actually tastes good

If you're eating salmon 3 - 4 times per week you should be getting plenty of EFA's.
Fish oil > flax seed.
