    Rest!!!!

Im on my second cycle And my gym time is cut down prob. 15 min I realized that's my breaks in between sets are shorter and shorter. I take two full days off a week with the exception of my morning run sat and sun. Is this ok that my rest time in between sets is cut down to less than 30 sec depending on how I feel. I always knew rest and nutrition were huge parts of bb, but should I be more concerned with my rest time while working out?

Just pace yourself if you can still do the set with perfect form with the same level of intensity then it prob okay but I would rest at least 30 seconds between sets if that's to long and easy for you then it looks like its time to move up in weights

Ok see the problem is if you did a cycle you should know how to train and eat questions can arise about changes your unsure if but this doesn't qualify IMO. Now for me to help you with rest and your 30 sec breaks I need to know you routine and if your cutting or bulking and your macros in grams please.

I'm bulking. Day 1) Leg Extensions, hack squats... My knee is ruined from Iraq. I have a hrs time with squats. I will do them just low weight no more than 200 pounds. If I do I can't walk right for a week and I can't sleep at night anyways. Leg press. Seated leg curl. Stiffed legged barbell dead lift. Calf press on leg press machine. Seated calf raise.
Day2) chest/biceps and abs and I also have a question about that but i will ask in the PM. I start w/ decline bench, most of the time it's dumb bell decline also because injury in Iraq with my shoulder for some reason that bar feels like it holds my shoulder in a funny position not all the time but sometimes so i will alternate. Dumb bell flys. Concentrated curls. Then hammer curls. Preacher curls. Day3) back and tri's dumbbell oil overs. Front lat pull downs.(close grip) dumbbell rows. Cable pulls.. Seated tri press.. + more still getting that routine right! Day4 delts and traps. Shoulder press.. Standing with dumbbells . Side lat raise with machine and dumbbells...reverse flys... Barbell shrug. I stand up with the and close grip the bench bar and pull to my neck. Day5. Legs w/ cardio.

Ok the routine looks pretty good but idk how you doing it look up Dorian Yates HIT blood and guts video on you tube and watch them all and listen closely they are failure workout and its great, if you go for me easy on the injuries do his injury prevention works and focus on form. This will help you immensely trust me its not easy at all and legs also watch injury whats wrong with the knee just pain?

Ok I will do!!! Thanks bro.. No I was in my MRAP cougar (bomb proof truck) lol I'm sure you have seen them on that dam show bomb squad.... I was favoring my knee from an amo can falling on it and I stepped of the back of my truck and hyper extended. I had a slight tear in my meniscus. They said no surgery and gave me a brace and said I was young enough that it would heal on its own as long as I took it easy.... Ya well it was a little impossible lol so long story short that was not my serious injury but I don't think it ever healed properly and give me trouble if I lift super heavy. Funny thing is I can leg press to failure and no problem!!!! Just dam squats!!!! And I love squats!

Dam man that sucks I was told the same in football torn mine too said it would heal and didn't happen I took a suggestion from a member here and take msm everyday it's great no pain in the knees or any joints really anymore. And props of you like squats I hate them with a passion and I have a tendency to puke if I push to much but that's when you know your doing them right lol.

Lol hell ya bro... Before I ruined my knee I would puke also... Ya and your exactly right! Your doing them right!! Also If you soil yourself then your a real stud..... .. Ya man sorry took so long to get back to you I have been on the road and working. I take weights with me but you know as well as I do that's not good enough I talked my boss into only staying at hotels with a gym! Ya they are small and not as good as where we go on a regular basis but they work if you really want it! Ya I am Down for msm man anything to get my knee back in action. So you think I can slowly get back into the squats with no consequence down the road?

I would still take it easy I also wrap both knees when doing legs and they always feel good for the most part I just use good ace bandage an wrap them properly and go all out lol I don't suggest going all out tho till you get a feel for what the knee can do.

More than likely the reason your knee hurts on squats is the knee moves out over the foot further then it does on leg presses. This creates more of a shearing force on the patellar tendon causing your pain. Barring damage it's probably from inflamation or an imbalance of the pull of the quad on the knee. Try a smith machine squat and keep your feet a bit forward. Push your hips back first to start the movement instead of bending the knees first. See if it makes a difference and let me know.

Also look into MSM powder and topical DMSO with aloe. They will help.

If I lift light, rest is about 20-30 seconds. If I lift heavy I will rest 1-2 minutes.
