Just do cable rows.
And rows should be for your upper back, traps, and rear delts, not your lats. Pulldowns are the best thing for lats.

Give them a rest for a bit, use machines to improve you're mind-muscle connection. After a while come back to bent over rows and I think you'll find nothing tops them.
The lower back pump is painful but once you've got the connection with you're back down, nothing beats the bent over row.
I don't like advocating straps because if you rely on them your grip strength will go to shit, but try using straps for the barbell/dumbbell row. Just let the weight hang in your hands and really focus on pulling through the elbows, try to take the bicep out of it as much as possible.

T-Bar rows are my favorite...
I also just started doing barbell rows on a smith machine and they actually work quite well......
