Damion is a cool guy, I've known him here for a while, and he's a good asset here and I like his character. He proved he is really cool by pm'ing me and explaining a few things. I too explained a few things from my point of view, and I have much respect for he and his wife Jade. Jade, didn't mean to come off "offensive", it's just that I've been in 4 hour debates about this through college, but alas, it's not the same topic of convo here, it was a joke to MBH.

Not at all, it's just that I did a lot of writing on this type of thing in college, and in scholastic locations you get in depth with reasoning, stereotypes, how images and the like are portrayed to us, etc. Again, as I said, it's probably waaaaaaay over anyone's desire to reason here, or their ability to understand and look past the plain "black and white" issue. No pun intended.

Agreed. Over simplification about race issues leads no where positive, neither do jokes that include race. You have great people and horrible people that come from all races. Anyone who wants to take offense even though this is stated as a joke is well within their rights. I don't consider myself a politically correct person but I try to stay away from any kind of sterotype or generaliztions based on race, religion, etc, since we are all unique.

Now as far as saying someone is acting out a hip hop persona. I can dig it. How about John Cena in the wwe? If anything he is good for a laugh, pumping up his shoes or brushing off his shoulders.

Ummmm, it's a CULTURE.............There are races other than blacks in Ebony, rappers/guests/freestyle Friday contestants on BET that are white/asian/etc.

H*ll, Eminem and Justin Timberphuck's videos play on B.E.T.
They are aimed at a culture and at certain issues that affect those of color, but they are not inclusive of JUST african americans.
