I played there but lost my $50. All in .50-$1.00 limits. It is interesting to say the least. I like the SNG tournaments at Pacific Poker better

i play at the casino. used to play at the 2 / 4 table when i started, moved up to the 4 / 8 b/c it's a better game, still with people who call with horse**** hands until the river. one night i won 70, next i won 230 (raped em). few weeks go by and i go back, lose 300. wanted to fight some ****er next to me b/c he was playing out of his rack and being a smart-ass.

remember one thing about playing poker in limiting losses: adhere to the 30 bet loss limit. That is don't EVER lose more than 30 times the big bet. So in a 3-6 game, never lose more than $180, 4-8, $240, etc..

I would never play online. Reading the people around you is more than the cards put in your hand

Start playing $4/$8 and that goes away real quick.

Texas hold em is taxing on your mind. Just got done playing 28 hours of poker this past weekend (7 hours a day, 4 days straight.) I am mentally drained. I guess I'm not cut out to be a pro because the pro's can sit at a table for 10 hours straight and make it look like they've been sitting there for 10 minutes.

I think the term "pro poker player" is somehwhat subjective to say the least. Give a solid (and I mean solid player who knows the fundamentals of playing good poker and has been playing for at least a few years) poker player a huge bankroll and I guarantee he would be just as good as the "pros".

I've watched the WSP and I've seen the "pros" make really crappy plays. And I've seen plays where, ****, it all comes down to luck. I saw one hand one guy has big slick(A-K) and the other has A-Q. So they both go all in and open up. The flop is ragged, turn is an airball. So far the A-K is winning and is the odds on favorite. The river comes and it's a Q. I guess the loser just didn't have enough 'skill' lol

And as a final note, everyone who complains about people calling with J-2 offsuit shouldnt be complaining. You should welcome those players with open arms.It is the play of poor poker playing that enables better players to win!!

True True! Those kind of people may win in the short run due to luck but in the long run, they are dead money. I have a friend who got really pissed off because he went all in with his AK vs. 4 6 suited and lost to the 4 6 suited (flush). He got so pissed off and left the game complaining that he didnt want to play with bad players (like the guy who went all in with 4 6 suited) because it screwed up his game. Obviously my friend doesn't know the game of poker very well. I LOVE to have those kind of people (bad players that call anything) at the table. Because you just have to play tight and once you get the nuts, you reel them for the all in at the river and they usually call thinking their middle pair will win. Works every time

exactly. it's all about gettin the nuts or at least making them believe you got it. then you reel them in and take their cash for playin stupid. that's the best feeling in the world.

Not to mention the dumbfounded look on their face when you show them your nuts.

i play in the 15/30 and 30/60 on party.

both are structured for fast preflop play and lots of calling. check raising usually pays you off if you get people playing K 10 or K rag, etc. i wouldn't sit at anything near those limits unless you can win consistently in the lower stakes.

build up a sizable bankroll if you can by playing the $25 NL tables and then work your way into limit.

i have won 7 tourneys on party in the last year, so i know all the ins and outs if you need anything.

    hehe...

you know what they all say...

" a man with his hands in his pockets feels crazy... but a man with his hands in his pockets with holes in them feels nuts! "

    A.A.

btw - my buddy sal is on there too... wish him luck. his name is "eatpork". he goes in for bilateral gynoplasty in less than a week for severe gyno... i told the bastard to be careful and not use the doses i use.. hehe.

he's trying to convince me to have surgery too even thought i have no signs of gyno (nock on wood). he says that way i'll never have to worry about it and can do ronnie coleman dosages (a bottle of test and deca and eq / week).
