PHOTOSHOP PROJECT! My progress...
Hey all
As some of you may know i like playing around with photoshop.
I also like sci-fi (no jokes ). I watch Stargate, and decided to make my very own Stargate!!! From scratch! I have to make everything from scratch, the textures, EVERYTHING.
Ive spent about 6 hours on it so far... its pretty d*mn hard. I have a few reference pictures. I am using no templates, no tutorials, no nothing!
Heres a pic of my progress so far!
I have a ton of textures to do, making the whole thing look more realistic, have to add a load more glowy things. Plus the bracket things they have on it. Plus a stand... and obviously the ripple puddle thing in the middle!
What u think so far?

it's what they (at least used to) use to make super-real scenes, where every ray of light is virtually traced on how/where it bounces. my friend was into it a long time ago but it would take like 15 hours for his POS pc to do one scene back in the day. here's a typical example from a random site:

oh this one is dope- super realistic:

Nah dont do that. Although i could probably recreate that quite easily, i use 3D Studio MAX which is a very clever program, that combined with photoshop.
Looks pretty hard to raytrace!

UPDATE!
Right, well i started again, wanted to refine the textures and get it lookin all a bit more closer to the original version. This is my progress so far, i have redone the textures, added a few things, tons and tons of layers.
Still have to add the actually puddle thingy, got a few hours to go then i should be finished!!!
What do u think so far?

you need more of a liquid flowing water look in the center, it looks more like clouds

Id drop the water opacity layer down to like 80%. Not enough that you can tell its opacity is down, but if you really really look, you could tell. Know what i mean?
