Its Winter In Canada!
It's winter in Canada
And the gentle breezes blow,
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.
Oh, how I love Canada
When the snow's up to your butt,
You take a breath of winter
And your nose freezes shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around,
I could never leave Canada
I'm frozen to the friggin' ground!

Dude, I might be a city boy but I can handle my ass in the great Canadian wilderness any day. I had to do a 2 week long training winter exercise all the way up in the Thunder Bay area once IN FEBURARY! And what's even more hilarious is that a bunch of American national guard units came up to work with us. You should have seen how unprepared they were with their tan desert boots! We had to lend them our mukluks and other winter kit lol.

Thats f'ing cold by any Canadian standards!
I used to work in TBay on the railroad...outdoors in the winter! Try building skeletonized track in 39 below weather. MY boots were so frozen that when it was time to enter the cook car, i had to get another dude to help pull my boots off! (no boots in the dining car)

LOL @ 'LOBSTERS'!!! That's EXACTLY what my dad thinks of Nova Scotia! He just thinks that everyone there fishes for lobsters, everyone eats lobsters for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He thinks lobsters there are extremely cheap, and he wants to go on vacation there JUST for the lobsters, etc. etc.

Man I know exactly what that's like lol. I remember this one time I was outside at night offloading snowmobiles off one of our trucks and it was SO COLD that night I lost feeling in my face about 2 minutes after stepping out of the cabin to help offload, and it was so bad that I couldn't talk. I sounded like a retard when I tried to talk, couldn't feel ANY facial muscles.
I'm on the far left, and as you can see its only the Canadians that are happy to be in the cold:

Too funny! In PEI they have lobster stands on the side of the road like we have french fry stand. For 5$ you can get huge tray of bodies. If you dont mind working for it, its a lot of fun..especially if you have jug of Moosehead beer into you..lol
Its true! The black flies in Winnipeg are the size of owls!!

Hahaha! I freaking HATE that parka, mine is sitting in my basement and I don't think i've ever used it. I like the goretex cold weather jacket (the one i'm wearing in the picture) because it has the zipper vents under the armpits in case you start to overheat and sweat. The parka doesn't have that because its old, but its still warmer than anything. You can easily pick up one of those parkas at an army surplus store though. If there's no surplus stores around you, go here and you can have it shipped to you: http://www.heroarmysurplus.com/canad...ka-p-4256.html
That one is the real deal, look at the price tag.

I know, they're not cheap! But they're worth it.
I have the ECW fleece top and bottoms and they are both zippered. I wear them under a pair of insulated bib coveralls for late season bow hunting with an tan colored XXL Tough Duck Mark'sWW coat on top - toasty warm.

It was a balmy -3C here today. I was in a t-shirt and fleece pullover. Projected forecast is -14C for next wk. Thats still fairly warm.
When it dips below -20C, out come the snowshoes and the .22mag.

I'm just looking at that picture again.... i'm fvcking huge! Pretty sure I was on a Trenbolone cycle at the time, which made the cold weather a little more tolerable (and put that big smile on my face you see there).
