    Nasser Dead?

    Muscle insider is reporting he died.

    Nasser El Sonbaty Dies

    What Nasser El Sonbaty dies? How's this possible? Nobody knows exactly how this has happened yet, but several sources have confirmed that Nasser El Sonbaty has passed away at the age of 47. According to IFBB Pro Shawn Ray, the word on the street is that Nasser had kidney failure from kidney infection. As more info comes in, we'll keep you posted but this tragic story is sending shocks throughout the industry.

    In all seriousness buddy Renal failure occurs far too often in this lifestyle for us to stick our heads in the sand or blame it on genetic predisposition. It has killed many and taken many out of the game.

    yes, this is one I will actually agree on... you cant keep running razorblades through an organ and expect it to regenerate... between the harsh orals and constant water depletion, it doesnt make for a good mix.

    I totally agree. I dont know re family etc but I will say this this guy was really one of the first monsters of the sport-at least one of the first I recollect. Him and Dorian kind of changed the game.

    Yes he did/does have family and (I recall a broken heart at one time from a divorce, later got back together never remarried) Very gentle and mild mannered human... he is an extremely intelligent man and had his masters in several subjects including History, Political Science, and Sociology. He also is fluent in several languages... yes I know useless trivia haha I know... haha

    Met the man at the Arnold in 97 or 98...Even had my pic taken w/him. and yeah, i paid like 20.00 for it but i didn't care. And let me tell you, the guy could freakin eat! Watched him chow down on a steak like it was child's play. Forget the sides, but he was a beast!

    The sport needs more people like him!

    Yes, he died of renal (kidney) failure, but it was the result of battling malaria as I understand it? That's what many sources are saying.

    The original report I read said he had a kidney infection which lead to renal failure. Been there. It happens.
