    1) I did?
    2) What "narrow minded ill based lie?"
    3) Football is pointless. IMHO, it's silly to go through all that trouble just to carry a brown turd-shaped ball a few yards. It's the slowest game on earth (slower than snail racing) and as entertaining as watching bowling on TV. Of course, you're always welcome to your own opinion.

When I post, I do so primarily to amuse and entertain myself. It's nice when I can educate as well, but there are folks on this board whose technical knowledge on AS is second to none (and I will be forever grateful to them for their willingness to share what they know). There are a few topics of which I have no small expertise, and when the occasion merits my attention, I flatter myself by sharing a bit of what I know.
Some folks wish the Universe would fit their preconceived notions of how it should be, and I am sure that I occasionally startle and offend them by showing them that Things Are Not What They Thought They Were. If they are encouraged to further investigation of the facts in question from all sides of the issue, I couldn't be happier. When instead they merely react with anger at having been disturbed from their fantasy, I assume they would benefit from several bitch-slaps to stimulate their intellectual powers.

It's a harsh region to be in, unlike Europe or the States where there's relief from the heat, and moral and determination can go to sh*t. And I don't see why people keep on saying GW is there to avenge his father or complete some vendeta . Those remarks have no backing what so ever. The first Gulf War was to liberate Kuwait, and the second has nothing to do with the first. So what are you talking about?

Markus, did you erase that statement? I'll tell you why people are bitter. Because when they joined they didn't think they'd have to fight, they joined for the wrong reason. I have a very good friend who I hung out with this weekend who is on the KittyHawk carrier. He supports it all. But he told me there are a lot of foriegners on the ship like people from haiti or puerto rico who don't. They talk a lot of **** and get their ass beat for it because they are pussies and didn't think about actually serving their country, they just thought of the monetary rewards and vacation sight seeing trips they'd take. A true soilder does not feel the way you describe. A coward of a soilder would feel that way. I can't speak for all, but I can speak for the couple of friends I have who serve. They back their boss 100%, yeah they'd rather be crusing some pacific islands some where but they knew the possiblity of going to war when they joined and accepted it.

Thank you. I was going to post something very similar. GW is my commander in chief, and is my boss. To talk crap about his decisions is not only against the law (UCMJ), but undermines the authority. And I literally haven't known anyone who acted like this.

I get sick and tire when I hear of these POGs whinning and bitching about going to the field or the desert, because they signed up for the college money or some crap. You're a SOLDIER, AIRMAN, SEAMAN, or MARINE. F**KIN act like it. My grandfather is a retired Army Brig. Gen., and he told me before I went not to be going for the college. You're going to train and fight in wars.

50% and Symian, my nephew and his brother are both 82nd Airborne. They are both very tough guys and definately joined the military to be soldiers. The reason the fight with Iraq can be traced to Daddy Bush is the people who pushed for war are mostly ones who served with the in the first Bush Whitehouse. I can't speak for my nephews but I can say they are serving their country and have no problem being in combat. I can also say they are not afraid to speak their minds and I doubt anyone is getting their ass beat for doing so. They never whined once about going to Iraq nor did they whine about being there when they returned. You reaaly over anylized my post to arrive at that conclusion. They simply question the motives of the administration who sent them there.

Hey, I'm sorry bro if I came off sounding harsh. But as many people do, certain things push my buttons. If they're in the 82nd, I'm sure they have enough pride for all of us. As far as the adminstration, I guess you know something I don't, and like I said to Tock previously, you never know what goes on behind doors. All we really know is what the media feeds us.

I got out a year ago, but I'm reenlisting soon. My best friend just got back from the desert a couple months ago, and his fiance' is still there. How hard is that!?! She's a cook, but Brown and Root is there so she mans a guard tower most of the time. What 22 yr old girls do you know that can say they've picked off guys down range trying to infil the post? Coolest chick I've meet!

    Doesn't $7,000,000,000 mean 7 billion? Wouldn't trillion be $7,000,000,000,000?

You're right . . . misses a few zeros there. Guess it's hard to tell when you're dealing with that much money . . .
The debt per person is the same, though.

But that pales in comparison to what's coming down the road, when all of us baby boomers start to retire and collect our social security. In the year 2015, social security will be operating at an annual deficit of $700 billion, and a few years later, at $1 trillion each year. Who's gonna pay? Why, you taxpayers, of course, thank you very much.

The big problem right now is that the American people don't want to deal with the future problem, and won't elect politicians that promise to administer the unpleasant necessary medicine to fix things. Everyone wants tax cuts right now, when one of two things absolutely HAS to be done: either 1) reduce social security benefits, or 2) raise taxes to pay for those benefits. If neither of those things are done now (or very very soon), when all of us boomers retire, there just ain't gonna be enough $$$ to go around, and that's when the sh-- will really hit the fan.

Yep, when it happens, remember you heard it here first . . .

Hey Moron, the national debt is completely different than an dudget deficit.

Our national budget deficit is around 500 billion, and that is due to a small think called 9/11, and a worldwide war on terror and a slumping economy, that W got from old Slick willy. Sometimes you have to run a deficit to get passed a economic downturn/War/ etc. Do you know how we won the cold war??? Its called a major military build up that was done running a massive BUDGET DEFICIT. And guess what happened after we won that war??? Oh yea Clinton came on board and was credited with that raging economy... when in fact it was due to good old ron reagan.

oh BTW the National debt has been growing since 1791 and started out at 75 million dollars, and is basically money we owe ourselves.... Maybe your not as smart as you think you are, and maybe you should do a bit more research before you go spilling your liberal BS. Maybe we should blame George Washington not George W. Ya wanna know why Conservatives are good at keeping track of money? Because they understand it and know what they are talking about. Try taking an Econ class... it may help

It's not just money that we owe ourselves.. sorry dude. Your entire post is irrelevant. If you took a more advanced economic class you'd realize that the ebb and flow of the economy has nothing to do with who's in the office.
