Dont, worry. I have been working as a bouncer in denmark, england and Iceland. Im 183 kg. And I have seen big ****ers, get scared when the **** hits the fan, as long as you can keep your cool and control of the situation, then you dont have to be 250 pounds. Yeah learn 3 things, how to fight, put peopel into holds and how to keep your cool.

i am 5'7" at around 225lbs. i have bounced a few times. never really had that many problems at the college bars. of course i have had to escort a few people out the door and i have had to literally drag some ****ers out the door. imo, size helps but if you are smart and know where to go first then you should be fine. but watch out for the full beer bottles though. i had a friend that was in the hospital for like a week b/c someone hit him blind sided with a full beer bottle

You don`t have to be strong. You have to watch you others bouncers back. You can do it if that is what you want to do. Go for it. HB2

a few guys i worked with werent big, but could whip some ass. i prefer the big fat guys, bc soon as they say somthing i start on how fat and nasty they are, and boom before u know it, they are the puppy and im the big dog... bouncers usually, mostly are all talk... if they were true badasses, most of em woudlnt have been stuck in the job. now there are some who arnt and should be watched, but most are just big guys who get by on that.. never really tested..

ok, i want to try bouncing, how do i get a job? i'm big enough, 6'1" 217, they don't put ads in the classifieds so how do you get one? i'm assuming you just go from club to club but to save time is there an easier way to find a club in need of a bouncer?

Your best bet is to go to the club, and talk to the head bouncer.

I work in a large club in Macon, I am probably the largest bouncer there, and the smallest is probably 5’10” 170 lbs and he does a good job. The two problems that I see with people that are new to working at a club, is that they either, don’t get involved or don’t stop a problem before it starts or when a fight does, start they stand back and don’t move in to break it up.

On most Saturday nights we have 2000 people in the club, with only 10 bouncers. It gets very interesting at times. We usually have a couple of fights a night.

Working as a bouncer can be a lot of fun, but it can get frustrating. Just this last Saturday night, I had this young kid who was drunk and was trying to impress his girlfriend. We got him out of the club, and I walked with them to their car, and before he got in his car, he bows up at me wanting to fight, I just started laughing at him, I explained to him that I had children who are much bigger than him, and that his best bet was to get into his car and leave.

haha this is a great thread, presonally i work at an extremly large stip club and consider myself pretty small 5'11 170, but i was a d 1 wrestler and have sufficent training in bjj. i put the hurt on guys twice my size, i dont see size being much of a factor if you are well trained. I probably get into more fights because of my small build, get this big dudes coming in and thinking that cause im small im cant tell them whats up, I have yet to have any problem i cant handel being a small bouncer.

I'm the head bouncer at a bar in the town where i go to college..........I'm about 200(6%bf) and 5' 10", but I don't f*ck arround and people know that........also i've gotten into alot of good fights in other bars in the town.Plus I fought on the K.O.T.S. circuit for a couple of years. It all depends on how you handle yourself and submission moves are great. If you are strong and have some experience fighting, then you should be fine.
