Why/how do SERMs help kickstart test production during PCT?

Can someone direct me to a couple articles that do a good job (the more detailed the better) of explaining how exactly is it that SERMs like Clomid and Nova promote natural testosterone production? For example, how does the hypothalamus utilize these compounds to generate gnrh, which in turn causes the pituitary to create LH and FSH?

from my experience SARMs suppressed my test production. had to do PCT.
