Thumbs up hacker be gone hehehe

Well going back to school was the best choice yet to get an upgrade on networking class.

I am now doing security+ and with that knowlege i found a hacker listening on port 1581, from Singapor GRRRR used the netstat -ano command.

I blocked that port in my firewall, great to see that in security there will be a lot of jobs soon LOL

well so far so good, guess it was a trojan horse, or a virus and the cracker installed a backdoor, when the virus was removed from the system.

Still the windows firewall either in XP, Vista and Windows 7 should not be disabled, there is a way to set it so that you can still accept pings, and run pc anywhere for support.

the one on windows 7 is complete and very good too. That should give the computer in a company an extra layer of protection with the antivirus, firewall that is already in place and maleware byte for spyware protection.

If you are still wanting to run pc anywhere support you just have to make sure that the services needed to run those programs are running in the background. Yes the firewall should stay on. What are you planning on doing....running your computer from somewhere else?

the port was open, but did you have any programs that were currently on and using that port?

you will ALWAYS have someone "listening" on a port, always.

my creds = Security +, MCSE + Security, CISSP
