Im new to all of this.. i have no idea where to start- all i know is i need to lose some weight- i dont know any of the "lingo" you guys are all using and everything ... but any sugestions would be great- right now im logging everything im eating .. but does anyone knwo if any good day to day eatting patterns?? something that would fit a college schedule? What would you recomend for a workout.. im guessing a lot of cardio- im not looking for mucsle gain

Did you say say you are not looking to gain muscle? I stongly recommend doing a great deal of reading and researching on AR before posting any other questions. A new person can and will learn a great deal here. However, you must make the effort and invest your time to ascertain at least an understanding of the basics and lingo. Many of us spent our first several months on AR just reading and researching. That's how you pick things up quickly.
