Nutrition in the PM
I heard that a lot of dedicated BBs wake once or twice in the middle of the night to eat some kind of meal or shake, I'm nowhere at that level of dedication but I do want to eat a meal before I go to bed that will a slow release protein, maybe 40-50 g. that will fight against catabolism during the night. I was wondering about what you guys thought was a good protein to ingest before counting sheep. Thanks for your input

1. Cottage cheese
2. Calcium caseinate/ casein/ micellar casein shake
3. whey/flax shake (tho not ideal...it'll work in a pinch...the added fat slows gastric emptying)

Casein would be the best choice for a shake before bed. You might want to take it along with flax oil as well.

I can't find casein that easy, is there a brand that you recommend? and a place to get it

I believe true protein sells casein or any other custom mix you might want.

Optimum Nutriton also makes a Casein shake, although if you eat enough protein to maintain a positive nitrogen balance flax/whey shouldn't be that big of a problem IMO!
