    Good friday...

Well I was just informed that today is good friday and I guess I am not allowed to eat meat today??? My mom just about took my fork outa my hand as I was about to eat my lean ground beef. Guess I gotta stick to fish & tuna today or sneak eat it (but I probably won't)

Anyone else religious and not going to eat beef today?

Used to be not allowed to eat meat on ANY Friday.

None of that stuff is from the Bible, just tradition.

Iam a roman catholic and iam all to familiar with the friday abstinence to meat. In fact since it is lent i havent been eating meat, poultry on fridays. i guess since its only for a day it cant hurt. i load up on protein from eggs, egg whites, fish and lots of protein shakes. Its only every friday for about a month.

Yea true... but it still sucks. Lean cuts of beef and chicken are all that keep me sane lol

Cant be that bad! at least we still get to eat unlike the muslim tradition of ramadan wherein you cant eat anything at all from sunup to sundown. now that would wreak havoc on our systems! puts a whole different meaning to "cheat meal"

My wife does this, and I admire her sacrifice.

For me it's not reality, and I just can't submit myself to these practices. Will I go to hell for it? I really don't think it's that d*mn serious!

I dont really beleive in this but ive been doing it all my life and i guess its part of a catholic upbringing. Once your used to something its hard to break away from routine.

Hey, I totally respect that like I said. My wife is the same way, her family and all. My mom does this as well.

I see it as a night you can go out to A.J. Spurs and get the BEST seat in the house!
